The Revs fans are awesome. I realized this after I saw the game between them and the Red bulls in New England. The fans were wild and that is what futbol needs to prosper here. Incredible fans. Their team played great as well. They almost beat us and I feel with a 4 4 2 formation they could have given us more problems or even won. New England is got a good team with a huge heart.

I love that football (soccer) is growing so much in the States.They have old stars like Keane and Jermaine Jones but are also growing talents like Zardes, Palmer-Brown or Trapp. Lots of people attend the games and the World Cup was an important event in the USA. It's great!

For those complaining the final should be held at a neutral site, stop. Take a look at past MLS Cup Finals from 2010 and back. Many of the games were horrible crowds and nothing compared to this when the site was neutral. They were bad advertisements for the league and not worthy of a championship game. The format of awarding the team that had a stronger regular season is much better and it puts more stock in finishing as high as you can because it is a huge advantage if you make the finals. It helps connect the season with the playoffs as the Revolution may have lost the Cup because they messed up the middle of their season with an 8 game losing streak. The playoffs are also needed so stop complaining about that. In the US fans expect a playoff and it keeps interest in the fan bases that would have no shot at winning the regular season. The sport is still young and needs to grow so it isn't England yet where a shitty team will sell out. There are too many other sports competing for interest. So to help legitimize the playoffs, it is much harder to win it all finishing low in the standings because you will have to play away in the finals. And if you can do that, then you earned it. MLS has the right format. It is fair.

One thing I hate is how Galaxy changed their squad almost completely every year. No chemistry is ever built because it's always a completely new wave of players. Only 4 years from this and only one player is still there and that is Husidic. Everyone else is gone.

This one still stings. Of the 5 Revolution teams to make it to the finals and lose, this one fielded the most talent on the pitch. Jones, Nyguen, Davies, Bunberry, Faguendez, and Rowe were a great attacking midfield/striker combo. This is the one that got away imo.

That New England's goalpost at the near end of the regular time...As an italian, I'd say that us soccer level is rising, soccer becomes really interesting and competitive when there is a good defending and us defending is improving, although that big mistake on the 2nd gol of a LA when New England completely did wrong the off side strategy.

I want to get into MLS, but its hard for me knowing that the best footballers are in Europe. I love the Primer League, Bundesliga, only care for La Liga for el classico (other than boring league). I will deff make a better attempt to follow MLS next season. But us American fans need to understand that this is going to take time for MLS to grow. You have to do what the Germans did and develop the talent in academies, don't rely on the washed up stars to come to here and expect interest.

The reason we bring in the veterans is so that they give mentoring guidance to some of the younger players in the league

experience and technic is why older players are signed , mentoring is for the lockers and training and technic is gained through coaching and training which i think the mls is lacking. offcourse youth academies can develop and be a good start for a talented player but again coaches are the key in that area also.

See my comment above. MLS Cup isn't big enough yet. They just changed it 3 years ago cuz the stadium would be filled with fans that a) are still pissed their team didn't make it, b) hate both the teams playing. Makes for zero atmosphere and that's unacceptable for a growing league. The advantage is minimal and won by the better team points wise.

Why on earth is the championship final held at one of the teams home ground? I mean why didn't the Rev's have a say so in this matter? I mean sure they want the sunny skies with warm temps but there is other stadiums around that could've hosted. I just simply think it puts NE in a hole from the off, I realize they had fans that traveled but come on LA had to have a 3 to 1 advantage if not more, just plain idiotic for the MLS to do this.

This is because the MLS cup isn't a big enough event here in America. In Europe for example, everyone and their brother will go to the FA cup final but in America if it is held at a neutral site the stadium will just look half empty. This looks very bad on the league.
