2nd yellow completely correct, first yellow card was ridiculous. NZ player was in position to catch the ball, had arrived early - look at the position at 6.45, both Aus & NZ players are on the ground, eyes on the ball and at 6.46 the Aus player jumps. In that one second the NZ player has moved forward about a foot, the Aus player has jumped up with his right knee raised. If anything the yellow card should have been against the Aus player for leading with his knee into high and potentially dangerous contact

May I bring the Boks into the equation seeing that they were part of this Championship competition? As all these players progress into becoming senior players, it seems that at senior level, over the past 8 years (X 2 WC's), the Boks have gotten stronger because of their wider player base to choose from, comparatively.

@@grahamkahui8718 Targeting and dropping weight onto an opponents knee in a ruck clear-out, causing or risking a hyperextension injury, is indeed a yellow card. Darcy Swain did that on Quinn Tupaea and it cost Tupaea surgery, a year of rehab, probably some mental depression and a certain spot in the world cup squad. The air collision one though is probably fair game, it's not like the kiwi defender leapt into the aussie guy, he stood his ground.
@FLEXZFNT
@FLEXZFNT 8 ай бұрын
@@Waywind420 I agree it was a yellow card, it is a bit touchy on how it works but I will say what Darcy Swain did was completely different cause he didn’t try to roll Quinn’s body off the ball, he blatantly targeted his leg not even attempting to clean him out. But with the player safety I do have to agree that the second yellow card was warranted. First yellow card was just a piss take though
@Waywind420
@Waywind420 8 ай бұрын
@@FLEXZFNT The state of refereeing has really made it hard to love the sport these days. It seems more about who can stay on the right side of the referee's whistle rather than actually playing rugby. So many silly rules that seem unnecessary, like detaching before attempting a pilfer or setting the ball down and picking it back up to negate any double movement 😐 I like unions gameplay but Leagues ruleset is so much cleaner.

@aldobonaso3481 8 ай бұрын
@@NathanAAASmith the rules are pretty clear though, the NZ player was moving forward and never left the ground, it is his responsibility to make sure the player in the air isn't taken out. If he was standing sill and the Aus player jumped into him, it would 100% be on the Aus player. If the NZ player caught the ball first, once again it would be the Aus player's own fault. The penalty in this situation very much relies on who wins the contest for the ball. The Aus player won the contest, the NZ player will be held responsible for any contact, unless it is a fair contest in the air, but then both players must be in the air challenging fairly for the ball.

@@aldobonaso3481 Appreciate all that and I hear what you’re saying but to me, the AB player still didn’t do anything wrong other than be a victim of circumstance.
