It's nice to get something from a game against a prestige club,, but In all honesty it means about as much as the 0-2 defeat to Oxford. Pre-Season results hold very little indication of how a season is going to go.

That was an enjoyable evening back at St Marys before the new season - felt like being back at home. Alcaraz was brilliant, doubt he'll be interested in moving to Lazio now. Both goals were fantastic, but we definitely have work to do; I generally liked what AM did for the latter end of the season whilst Bazunu was out, but we can't work like that at the back in the prem, we'd continue to leak goals .... not good.

Charles didn’t instigate anything. Then Cataldi (the captain so some role model he is…) pushes Charles. So being a good teammate that he is, Alcaraz stands up for Shea, and then Romagnoli literally strangles him. That’s going to cause a reaction. Nothing but pure passion and a justifying response in my opinion. Even Russell Martin applauded the passion and protection from our players.

It all started at the 00:50 second of the video. Alcaraz pushed Lazzari in the same play that originated the goal. Foul not given by the ref, you can see the Lazio players complaining right after it. Cut out to 05:14, Lazio #15 commit a common foul - again, not given - in Saints #18, which made Charles to go a bit too aggressive in his tackle, which triggered Romagnoli's actions and Alcaraz losing his mind.

Sloppy defence we need to shape up at the back if we gonna think about Premier league survival at least. To many exposed areas on counter attacks. Lazio had so much freedom around the box and the final third. It's not acceptable especially at a higher level. Yes it's a friendly but this is where you want to push and really gain momentum going into the season. We were extremely lucky not to loose.

Brereton reminds me in a way of Charlie Austin; excellent striker when he's got a decent midfielder like Joey Barton giving him a good ball but he's absolute shambles without "that" pass. He cant create a risky situation and this goal was a fluke. Hasn't done it for Chile or Villareal. I hope to god im wrong though but its just what I've seen. Give him a good midfielder and he'll score 20+ goals ,on my life mate
