@@marcj4788 this constant rhetoric on how Ireland is overachieving is irritating. It is partly true though but not to this extend. First of all, Ireland has just above 150K registered players; France has 300K. This is only a factor of 2. Don’t forget we play football (a lot), basketball, handball etc… At a club level, you have provinces who play a championship with no relegation in inferior division. Tell a Top14 team to give up some points in a Sunday to be fresh the next one to play the HCuo… These provinces also play much less matches every season. Finally this province system largely benefits the national team since its players come from only 3 different clubs and have a lot of automatism. We nevertheless appreciate that Irish rugby is doing very well.

At this level of the competition neither Leinster nor La Rochelle will be favourites, even if the Irish are lucky enough to play at home, the Rochelais are very good away too. But I think you should start believing today that Leinster are untouchable, and that La Rochelle will be beaten in advance...the role of the outsider is very exciting! The try on 69 minutes from Exeter was one of the few bits of play that showed the class of old. Hogg steps through a space he had no right to and then teh interplay with Slade and Woodburn finished it off. Shame there wasnt more of that, Hogg should have been on earlier.

Im looking forward to the final. two teams in la rochelle and leinster, both ride the edge of what is deemed "legal" or not, blurring the lines of what is or isn't a penalty, getting the referee on their side and gaining the majority of the decisions in their favour. no doubt exeter and toulouse made mistakes, and la rochelle and leinster played well, but key decisions that could go either way going in their favour made their score lines more flattering

They changed the rules to allow Matt Giteau and Drew Mitchell to play and ended up creating a law that allowed a maximum of 3 overseas players to play for Australia at any given time and named it after Matt Giteau so that's how it came to be called Giteau's Law.

The score during these periods is 22-13 for Toulouse. the game was much closer than the final result says, and the first "harsch" yellow for Ramos was perfectly exploited by Leinster. Well done but look at it again, no clear domination from any team in that game.

Yes - his calls at the breakdown were beyond belief - LR deserved to win no doubt - but Skelton could have had several yellow cards - he is just a thug and JP just ignored this each and every time - the final could come down to which team gets away with it more at the breakdown and how the ref views this part of the game

​@@jmo8934It really is just a constant moan, I'm surprised that these lads bother with it at all. They're wrong if they let the game flow, they're wrong if they blow up for foul play. The frogs crying about Netis head tackle yesterday and the Porter challenge which they claim was a red because the player went more than the horizontal, but they weren't complaining when Fickou wasn't carded v Wales in March of this year. Btw, it was a penalty only, and because Toulouse scored a try it wasn't called back for the penalty. Imagine the frogs reaction if the try was disallowed and it was called back for a penalty.

People don’t like to take responsibility for poor performance. And when I say taking responsibility I mean taking a pay cut or having a contract cancelled not just saying the words like so many coaches in particular do. In that regard you have to blame something b that is outside of your control and the number one target for that is always the referee. Yes they make mistakes sometimes. They always will. And the odd time there is a clanger. But teams and fans seem to blame the referee for every loss now even though they might have butchered about 5 try scoring chances or fell off tackles all over the place. Anything but take a look in the mirror.
