Highlights Video of the Supreme Court’s first Human Rights Symposium

In commemoration of the International #HumanRights2024 Day, the #SupremeCourtPH partnered with the Philippine Judicial Academy in launching its first ever human rights symposium in Tagaytay City, Philippines, centering on the fundamental freedoms of speech, expression, and of the press, as well as its cognate rights.
The holding of this Symposium, titled, Rethinking Adjudication in a 21st Century Democracy: Symposium on Contemporary and Enduring Challenges to the Philippine Judiciary on Questions Involving Freedom of Expression, became this Court’s innovative approach to the promotion of human rights in the Philippines, pursuant to the guidelines of the Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations 2022-2027 or SPJI.
