Highly, when they rehearsed some of the songs (there is a video "Angelina Jordan corrects the band") the conducter and band leader was unsure about a passage, he went first to his college, then he went to Angelina, a 11 year old genius, asking her for advise, imagine that, a grown mature professional musician asks a young girl for advise !!! I think that is telling us something. Thanks for your marvelous reactions, my respect for you, sir.

This performance takes a few listens to really take in all her nuances, all her flavors and the incredible soul she puts into this. This might be her absolute best when it comes to showing what she is really capable of. It is indeed a masterpiece, and it still looks so effortless. The improvement Angelina shows performing this song from age 11, on her It's Magic album, to here at age 12 is remarkable. If she sings it again say at age 20, she will have to sing it outdoors otherwise she would knock the building down.

Thre is here more than vocal power, breath control and elegant phrasing. There is transformative phonetics used to give to the cover its proper color. To prove that Angelina applies her creative mind to produce new sounds in the pronunciation of some words and phrases, get the lyrics and compare what you read with what you hear. Based on the final result of her linguistic creation, I must say that Angelina is, among many other qualities, a poetess.

Hi, The band ist the brassband of the Royal Norwegian Army celebrating the 200th anniversary presenting Norways national treasure Angelina (NOT A JOKE). After first asking the OK by her family they presented her on her 12th birthday with the opportunity of producing a charity album "it's magic" with them. Singing her original songs and some she loved most. End of campaign was this concert in the park in Oslo beside the castle at the carp-pond. Because of the anniversary, the Norwegian Prime Minister herself was in the audience and she is a fan of AJ =D. Stay save and healthy. Gg

I can`t imagine this band/orcerstra could hope for any better way to celebrate their 200 year anniversary, as they was able to work together with Angelina to make the record "It`s Magic" (mainly recorded in 2017 as Angelina was 11 yo) and made this full "It`s Magic consert" performing all the songs from that same record. The consert was the releas-consert to the album as well. 12 year old Angelina was clearly the star of the show, and I think even the band took great inspiration from cooperating with this young prinsess of jazz and soul. The record even contains Angelina`s first two originals, "What Is Life" (wich you reacted to) and "Oslo", of course named by her home town. Other great songs from the record (and this consert) are "It`s Magic", "I`m A Fool To Want You" (most beautiful version of the Billie Holiday song) "Crazy", "Mr. Lonely", "Cheek To Cheek", "Fly Me To The Moon", "La Boheme", "Cry Me A River", "Speak Softly Love" and "I Can`t Help Falling In Love With You". The orcestra did three instrumentals as well. (Record still available of cource :-) )

Sir, as I go through your reactions again, I want to give Information, I did not have before. The conductor of this band asked during rehearsal the then 11 year old Angelina for advice FACT, I saw the video. She was already known for her uncanny instinct and ear for music. She did a whole album with the Norwegian Armed Forces band. There is also another version of this song she did at a jazz festival. There is no video with that version, but the sound is straight from the mikes so the quality is really good. As it’s jazz and there is a good guitar solo art the end too.

Thanks for another beautiful reaction, HXC. It's impossible not to be fascinated by all her performance, from the beginning, even the same orchestra applauds it at the end. This is probably one of the songs in which Angelina manages to make the most of her vocal skills, at just 12 years old and without fatigue, James Brown can be proud of this performance. She plays very well on the changes of tone, varying at will along the musical scale and exploiting the vocal power that she possesses, in a wonderful and continuous musical flow. One of the most complete interpretations of this fantastic little girl ❤️ 😁

The first day was a more formal long white dress with many government and military in the audience. I am sure other commenters can give pronunciation...

If you like a big orchestra, check out Angelina doing Fly Me to the Moon at age 12. She is at the Quincy Jones birthday rehearsal concert. This is with the Quincy Jones orchestra. It is extremely impressive. Choose the two and a half minute version which has best sound. For Angelina in a stadium of sorts, check out Now or never, or Something's Got a hold on Me, at a very large annual concert in Norway. Finally, her original Shield and also her song Feeling Good are indoors in front of very large audiences.

For a different take on this song, there is an audio version of her doing this song without the Norwegian Armed Forces band, but with a Jazz ensemble. Yet another great Angelina reaction by HxC! Wasn't that stunning? The only thing missing from this performance was for Angelina to drop to her knees and then a guy runs out from backstage and drapes a cape over her shoulders! (You may be too young for that JB reference.) This was one of about 12 songs she sang at a concert in Oslo, Norway on June 16, 2018 with Forsvarets Stabsmusikkorps (Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces). She was 12-years old. All of the songs she sang at that concert are on KZbin. Search Forsvarets Stabsmusikkorps and you will find them.
