She was the singer who sang on the Titanic soundtrack (not my heart will go on of course that's Celine) but the clear voice you hear through the movie is her :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJu7Y3tqobBkrpY (link to her parts)

My poor heart can hardly take any more of her voice, she sears me through and through with every perfect note, and gosh, she's 52 and can sing so sweetly.

I was waiting for her to sing a verse in Norwegian, but no. The other language is German...which is the original language of Silent Night. Stille Nacht was written by an Austrian priest in the village of Oberndorf, close to Salzburg. Humble origins that became so world famous!

In the same recording session she sang it over again but a verse in each of one of three different languages, one of which (I think) is Norwegian. It's on YT. Check it out.

Thanks for the reaction. BTW Stille Nacht is the German original version from 1818. Translated to English in 1859. Some fun facts en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Night

That is a German version of Silent night.

Version ....and version.......not really..... German is the original language of the song. It was written in Germany in 1816 or something like that. Hence it was not a version of anything. It is not so that everything in this world comes from the English speaking world.....
@russellragan93863 жыл бұрын
@@Dan-fo9dk Aware it is quite beautifully written in German as the song's origin! Was merely noting the language sung in the video. My wife is first gen German American. Thank you for noting it for those who are not aware.
