the voice enhancing technology that is being used here did not exist in the mid 70s when nicks recorded her version, there is another vid of this girl singing this song live without any enhancements, the difference is very revealing

She recorded this at her college apartment October 2020 while sitting on her bed. She has top quality equipment as you see by what she is using. Lot of people thought the mic enhanced her voice, but her mother replied to everyone saying it is 100% Lanie. She recorded this and sent it to her family who were also blown away by her version, even though they know how good she is. Ten days after this video was released by her, the Jonas Brothers father signed her up and she got a record deal.

I read somewhere in all these reaction video comments that Mic Fleetwood contacted her after hearing her cover. He told her how good it was. He put her in contact with Kevin Jonas who signed on as her manager. Lanie said she was contacted by lots of people, but Kevin was the only one she knew of.

If you do enough research, you'll find Lanie's own testimony and that of her mother. Even one of her housing mates who witnessed the recording. Lanie and her mic, her dorm bed (which her Mom gigged her on because it wasn't made up), relaxed in her PJs, singing her version of Stevie Nick's song. She did 2 recordings that day. She discarded the first because she muffed some words. She recorded the second and nailed it. Mic Fleetwood called her about 10 days later. Mic told her how good her version was. Put her in touch with Kevin Jonas who signed on as her manager.

I was on a tour bus many years ago and a young girl got up to sing. She picked up that mic and what came out of her mouth sounded like she was in a professional studio. I guess some people have that kind of voice and it just comes very natural to them. I just hope she doesn't get overwhelmed and ends up burned out by all the attention and demands on her time.

The cranberry juice at the beginning alludes to a viral video of a guy on skateboard mouthing the words to Dreams while riding a skateboard and drinking cranberry juice. Lanie’s version is incredible. I can’t stop listening. That said, Stevie’s version is simpler, with less reverb, etc so her true voice comes through cleaner IMHO. Love Lanie’s old school vocals verses the breathy / scratchy sound of the majority of today’s female pop vocalists.

Mic Fleetwood heard this cover and himself said she crushed it, he liked it so much he dm's lanie and has publicly said she can sing with Fleetwood mac anytime she wants to. Stevie nicks actually said that is extremely amazing and was very positive and humbled because its the closest anyone has ever come to sounding like the original. I wore out that album on 8 tracks, vinyl and cassettes back in the day.

67 year old guitar player. Lanie is the real deal, gifted,gifted. As far as the sound, what you can do in your bedroom or anywhere else for that matter is remarkable. With the software out there that is affordable and with a with a good mic, studio quality recordings are possible. Sound fidelity aside, her voice is special.

Bought Fleetwood Mac "RUMORS" album March 25, 1977. Been lifelong fan and while I would listen to Stevie Nicks among the top 20 albums I ever heard, Lanie Gardner's version of the song "Dreams" is easily as Great as the Stevie Nicks performance when I heard it the first time. Now past 60 years old I can happily say and see the new blood of an effervescent and thriving Young Artist In Lanie Gardner with as much promise as Stevie Nicks if she remains wise and dedicated to her craft!!!
