Matt you must be the only car dealer in the UK that go to the lengths you do to prepare a car. Credit to you. I bought an Audi A4 from a local dealer a month ago and driven it once not seen it since. It had no coolant in it after getting it home realising that the heaters didn't work and after filling it up it all disappears shortly after. You'd think they'd at least check the basics before the car leaving.

Always put the best tyres on the back, regardless of FWD or RWD. That's because lifting off the throttle transfers most of the mass of the vehicle onto the front wheels, lightening the load on the rears & causing them to lift slightly. With the worst tyres on the rear, this can cause lift-off oversteer (where the back of the vehicle suddenly tries to overtake the front). Having the worst tyres on the front can lead to understeer (where the front of the vehicle is reluctant to turn) but this is more progressive &, therefore, more controllable. Any decent tyre fitter or mechanic will refuse to put the worst tyres on the back.
@gravemind65369 ай бұрын
Shit tyres on the front causing boat loads of understeer lead to snap oversteer anyway because when they finally regain traction it will jolt the back end sideways. The front tyres are also what stop your car, its important to have good tyres all round.
@chrishart85489 ай бұрын
I'm in full agreement with you but it seems so common new tyres just on the front only. Makes me wish all cars were rear wheel drive it would sort out this issue., the argument often is if they move the rear tyres to the front they will need more tyres sooner.

@@chrishart8548I fully get your dad. I stopped rotating tyres as they would wear out evenly. It was never nice buying four tyres at once. It's never nice, but I do it cause I feel like I don't have much choice. With my FWD, it's all in my hands, then; why not opt out of buying four at a go.
