I bought a facelift model new in 2014 and I still have it. I’ve had many cars over the last 50 years and this one has been the best car I have owned. The build quality is superb and the car has been reliable and economical, averaging 55mpg driving smoothly and gently. The local Peugeot dealer has offered me £3000 to part exchange which is ridiculous. I have looked after the car and have decided to keep it for as long as possible. I am certainly not paying £20,000 upwards, plus my car for a three year old car which won’t do any more than my present car.
@CraigMilesYoutubeКүн бұрын
Just bought a 2010 / 2011 manual diesel 3008 which local dealer had in as px. He doesn't usually do px, but said the owner didn't want the hassle of selling it. Hpi clear, locally first sold, locally owned. So far so good. The interior looks like it's a one year old car. Even came with nearly half a tank of fuel. The previous owner left his sunglasses in the glasses holder, and his cd in the player. Only thing bad, is paint flaking from rear alloys, but it's booked in to be sorted. Oh and I don't have all the service history, such as cambelt which had apparently been done..... dealer let me take the cover off to check....it's not the original belt, and looks quite new, so likely true. Quite pleased for £1650 One month later, so far so good.

I've spent quite a bit of time in various Peugeots. I liked the 504 really liked the 505 Gti, and thought the 309 was more grown up than the contemporary Escort and Astra. But..... er, the DS3 I used as a courtesy car wound me up as for 4 days I couldn't work out how to retune the radio, or even turn it off. It was via a touch screen. I work for a certain police force and during lockdown was on different duties and travelled all over the North West, Staffordshire, North Wales and up to the Scottish Borders. I did that in a Peugeot 307 with the 1.6 diesel. It was great, until about 70,000 miles it broke down on the motorway and had to be recovered. It was back a week later, and then broke down again three days later. It went back on a truck. It came back again a week later and lasted all of three hours before...... it was on the back of a truck. It was destined for only one fate, namely to limp through the auctions. Cue the arrival of a Hyundau i30. With more miles on it than the 307. It was faultless. Since then I've used quite a few 308s and they've been OK. We've tended to have the 1.2 three cylinder variant which go quite well, for a while. Once they get up above 75,000 miles they drink more oil than l do beer, in a figurative sense. You could check the level at the start of the shift and it was full. The next shift would come on and it would be halfway down. In some cases you'd get a message saying "STOP!!". At one stage the decision was made to swap the engine of one for another that had been written off. That engine had about 20K on the clock. A week later the expansion tank contained a black liquid instead of pink. Back to workshop and another engine transplant. If you were getting one on PCP and gave it back with 30K showing it could be a good car to have. But if you are the third owner with quite a lot of miles on the clock, I'd suggest parking it behind a reversing HGV and run away.

I have just this week sold my 2013 manual 3008. I had it for 5 years and the only issue i had was a fuel rail pressure sensor go bad £30 repair and very occasionally a handbrake fault but if you remove the switch and dismantle & clean it it works fine, dirt gets inside it so a good clean with electrical cleaner does the trick. If you service it properly they are very good cars. I think when these first came out they had an injector issue but i think a recall fixed it.

In France it’s a legal requirement to change both across the axle at the same time regardless of the condition of the remaining tyre to retain the same brand and wear. Test drove the automated manual a few years back and everything change it makes there's a slight jerk.Salesman said that's because you have to 'learn' how to drive it.Apparently even though it's auto ,to get a smooth (smoother) experience,you must feel when is about to change up and release gas pedal slightly.Needless to say I walked away !
