I bought a 2010 Laguna 5 door with 40000miles at 2 years old. When I told the dealer I do high miles, he told me I'd be mad if I bought a Renault, and tried to sell me a Golf. I ended up selling the Laguna at 180000 miles. It never missed a beat, and never failed an mot. Great cars

I had an 04 plate estate 2ld half leather seats thing it was dynamic trim iirc, really soft leather. I'd guess it was actually real leather. got it at 46k at 4 years old for Renault bury, an ex rep car, that had had a lovely tap from behind, but fixed. For £4k I had that car from 08 to late 15, went all over Europe almost every summer, it had almost 200k on it when I took it to the scrappy. Mechanically it never let me down, but slowy all the electrics started failing, the last 2 years there seemed to be a new electrical issue. Which I never bothered getting fixed by the end. The clutch went so I decided to retire the car. I got £300 for it. It owed me nothing, that car created so many good memories when the family way young. So I never have a bad word for the Laguna. It served me very well. I've never owned a car as long as that one.

I've owned a Laguna Coupe Monaco GP for 7 years now. I really love the car, Reliable, well built, comfortable, very economical, 220 bhp diesel so pretty quick too with loads of Torque. They are very underrated and I've seen quite a few with 300-400k miles. Boot is huge for a coupe and with the seats down, its massive. I've lowered mine with spacers which also massively improves the looks, as well as adding a lower lip spoiler and black front grille (on my white car) to improve the front end. Full leather interior helps give the interior a real lift too. They are super cheap to buy because everybody hates Renaults but they don't know what they are missing. Better than most modern junk.

Absolute same here! My family has been loyal to Renault for 4 to 5 decades now. Easy to say, I suppose, as we are French and undeniably pro-Renault. But honestly, we wouldn’t consider switching to another car brand (German or like). In over 40 years of owning Renault vehicles, we have never encountered any issues. As for me, I currently own a 2019 Renault Alaskan (basically a rebadged Nissan Frontier to be fair) and a 1963 Renault Caravelle (a beauty this one, trust me). Both run like clockwork as we say in French.

I vividly remember seeing this at a motor show, and falling in love with the looks, and the inevitable Renault rep there trying to convince you that it was the best thing since sliced bread from them. Since then I never saw a single one on the roads, instead it looks like it’s France’s equivalent to the depreciation disaster that the VW Phaeton was for Germany. It can only have been an ex company car with this kind of spec and appeal, if it’s ended up at an auction. It’s usually where the special stuff ends up at a steeply marked down price, that only a select few would entertain as a purchase. It’s a shame that this is how it is, in the car world. On the flip side though, whatever is one man’s loss will be another man’s gain, I guess.

I have a 2010 Laguna estate. 1.5dci. Owned it for 2 1/2 years. Has the belts and water pump changed when I bought it. Only thing that ever popped up on the MOT was front tyres nearing legal limit. The windscreen washer pump did go as well, but £75 at my usual mechanic sorted that no bother with its annual service. It’s not even hit 100k yet and it serves me brilliantly. Once the engine is warm it runs like a dream, I do mostly short city drives, once or twice a week. But weekends it’s taken me on 200+ mile trips without any issues and never missing a beat. Underneath the bonnet is immaculate still. I know people dislike Renaults or French cars in general, but my estate is going to stay until the wheels literally fall off. Then I’ll probably try and find another. I do like the Laguna Coupe Monaco GP edition. But they’re rare now.

Matt you always promote Prestige wheels in Bredbury and Tameside valeting (both with good reason), but never tell us where we can find "Jimmy the magician"! I live in the Stockport area and would love to use his services, hence please point me and i'm sure many others in the right direction. Great video incidentally.
