Hope me mentions, and would love to hear a few minutes of him talking about his brother Barry (Barry O). He was super underutilized, and could really go. Had a great look too.

I had the pleasure of seeing Bob wrestle while on front row ringside. He was machine in the ring with precision like Bobby Eaton, Ric Morton and those top tier guys.

Bob Orton was a fantastic wrestler

Brother , thats the truth . The guy had NWA champion written all over him . He was superior to Flair in the ring . Its on the mic he was average and he did not bring a lot of hype like Flair . Orton was more in line with seventies wrestling than Hype Heavy 80s wrestling so Orton is not as appreciated as he should be .

Vince snatched other company's TV time Bob. And replaced their shows. Lol

Since I stopped watching what passes for wrestling in 2002 youtube has been my only source of wrestling . Wrestling used to have some sense of credibility and some folks thought wrestling insulted your intelligence but I think it was necessary to protect the ability to tell the story with wrestling .

They said bob had to make a mistake on purpose, because he was so good
@pooddescrewch8718 Жыл бұрын
They were right . I feel guilty for not having recognized how much of a master showman he was because credibility was his strongest suit . But I was an impressionable teenager who wanted bigger than life heroes . Bob would not cross that line .

The 80s were unfair to ARTISTS like Bob Orton Jr . Cowboy gimmicks were still in vogue when he broke in but in the Gimmick era wrestlings ethic changed from a John Wayne like aire to a Stallone -esque muscleman ethic . Grizzled He-men gave way to Body builders . We the fans got caught up in hype and aooearance more than actually being able to put on a convincing match that told a story . So guys who did their best talking in the ring who weren’t 265lbs were unfairly overlooked .

I’d rather Bob Orton than Hulk Hogan. The cowboy over the superstar wrestler except macho and hotrod because they’re great but the rest of em are not

@@JR_Donofrio I was wooedearly on by physiques like everyone else but I noticed that the quality of matches continually decayed as more and more „ attractions“ took the place of „ artists“ .
