Absolutely love the section about switching between the sources, I wish more tech-tubers do exactly this kind of test, including how does the switching work. Great video overall.

Nice video. Thanks for posting. One piece of feedback though, would be good if you used chapters to make it easier for viewers to skip around to the parts of the video we want.

I've had this for 9 months now and I'm still super happy. Absolute dream. Perfect width and height, resolution is amazing. Of course, OLED and 120+ Hz would be nice, but I'm willing to sacrifice those first before compromising on size, PPI and resolution.

I have the 34 inch flat panel version of this. It has been a great all around display, but it does suffer from temporary image burn in. If you leave the display on for a long time, the pixels will stay semi illuminated even after the picture changes, leading to a ghostly image of what was displayed before until the pixels are cycled enough times. Not a huge issue, but annoying none the less if you go from a long desktop session to a movie or gaming.

Coming from an Eizo I hoped the auto brightness function would work similarly smooth. It doesn't because not working stepless, it goes active every few seconds, slowly driving me crazy, plus the variation range is unnecessarily limited in both directions. Good idea, very poorly implemented.

Great review, appreciate your hard work - here's a curveball for you - what is the difference between this model and the seemingly identical LG 40BP95C-W? The latter is a few hundred cheaper and offers a 3 year warranty - which the mainstream version doesn't, which for a $2k monitor is shocking.
@HighTechCheck Жыл бұрын
It seems that there isn’t a difference except the bp version has a 3 yr warranty which I’m sure you’re paying for with the extra cost of the monitor. I’ve had no issues with my monitor what so ever and I still use it all the time for my video editing.

Ive just returned mine under warranty after 6 months usage. when displaying a white screen, i could see colour shift from magenta to cyan. it was in large patches. unacceptable for colour accurate work. Im getting a replacement but hopefully i dont have the same issue. id be curious to know if you see anything similar with a full white display.

@epicimages5583 Жыл бұрын
@@beeldbuijs my replacement has the same issue i mentioned, but not as bad. I feel its just the limitations of the product. Ive learned to live with it. Unfortunately there really isn't an alternative for this size/res. There are several models from various companies but they're all effectively the same panel. Haven't had any issues with flickering.
@beeldbuijs Жыл бұрын
@@epicimages5583 Meanwhile, I bought a Philips 42M2N8900. It has a much better (OLED!) screen, double the fps, zero lag, better contrast and better colors. It's not an ultrawide though, it's 16:9 and it's not curved either, but I'm keeping this one ;·)
@beeldbuijs Жыл бұрын
Bought it in november. Unfortunately, the screen starts to flicker and it gets worse, the longer I have it. Not always, but it gets worse depending on how long it is on, the resolution and the colors that are shown. It's also worse with video, somehow.

Nice review. Yep, this is still the best one in 2023 (having tried and disliked the Lenovo). Having 2160 pixels high is the real thing - You can view both UHD and Cinema 4K natively and also have the ultrawide real estate.
@krip77krip Жыл бұрын
Why didn’t you like the Lenovo?
@adrianbarac3063 Жыл бұрын
@@krip77krip Maybe "disliked" was too strong a word. The Lenovo did have some advantages, which you'll see when you go through all the reviews - but the LG won overall for design and image quality. As a video editing / general-use monitor at this size and resolution (and on a Mac) - it's the one to beat, at least at this point in time.

It depends on what you’re looking for in the monitor and what you’re going to be using it for. If all you’re going to be using it for is mainly gaming, then there are better options.
