I have freckles and pale skin like yours and this is really the best way I've found as well. I do use urban decay "naked" eyeshadow to contour and it seems to work best, so Im definitely picking that eyeshadow up at MAC

You said it perfectly when you talked about using a light hand when putting on your contour.. you want a shadow not a stripe!! So many ladies are walking around with stripes on their cheeks.. & it’s not cute! I’d much rather someone tell me I look nice then say my makeup looks good. I use a face setting powder that is slightly too dark. I have fair/pale skin and it works great for me. I will definitely try the eye shadow trick though!

You did a beautiful job and the colors are GREAT. I love the way you were creative in using the eyeshadow for contour color. Works perfect and you have many more options for colors. I would recommend a bit more blending on the eye makeup so it’s just a tad softer and the same for the under eye contour. You have to blend, use less, under eye concealer because it looks like it’s creasing just a bit. Thanks for the tutorial. I went from blonde to red and that changes things. 😊

Try draping. It's a way of contour that's more friendly to gingers because it's mainly used with blush pink colors which is a natural color to gingers and looks bomb.

Awwww Katie you're so sweet, thank you!!!! As far as the freckles, I just use foundation in my t-zone and blend it out so you can still see the freckles. Otherwise you have to use a TON of product to cover them and that's annoying.

I suppose that would be the better option. I've struggled with my freckles from 25 years and still going strong. Even went through a Michael Jackson phase where I tried to bleach them off of my face.

OMG!!! A fellow ginger, whose super fair and multicolored skin tone! I wish I had your eyebrows. As I’ve hit 50 my hair is (sob)getting darker, but it usually does in the winter. And my eyebrows although still there seem to have gone incognito.

I use my Urban Decay 'Naked Basics' palette and mix some of the cool browns that work pretty well, and my skin is maybe 3 shades lighter than paper. However, i enjoy sharp contour, the drama is what i go for. But you can still do a really natural look with it, so i would totally recommend that as well! :)

Hello, Thank God someone is addressing fair skin without pasting foundation as a mask to give us "fairies" a different skin tone. I love my fair skin and my freckles give me the colour I want so I just highlight and contour with minimal foundation. I love your lip colour, can you tell me brand and colour as it doesn't make your teeth look yellow! I'm always advised the peach/orange tones which makes my teeth colour look awful. Thank you for the contour advice, I will give the NYX one a try because I am hearing about it consistently. I am a blonde, fair skin and have had trouble with this. However, I want to comment on your makeup look here - You looked so young and fresh with the initial eye makeup + bare minerals foundation. SO BEAUTIFUL! But as you added the rest of the products, you started looking older and older. You didn't need any of them! (Especially the sheer foundation with the full coverage concealer under eye- it gave a weird effect with part of your face looking young, fresh, freckles.. and then the under eye looking so full coverage)

My NYX taupe blush is different? It's flat and and does not have a sheen at all. I bought it at Ulta? Do they make two different formulations? A matte and a shimmery? Mine is wonderful for contouring my freckled face.

If you're fair I highly recommend trying Benefit Dallas. I would have never bought it but it was in my Cheekathon. The second I tried it I literally said "this blush is life". It's so beautiful. I agree w her that it can be used as a blush or a contour. The Cheekathon is a great value, five full size Benefit blushes for the price of two and it has everything you could ever need for blushes.
