The greatest thing about this classic show is that the majority of the filming was done outdoors and not on a sound stage. Great street scenes with ordinary traffic, and spotting businesses that viewers still recognize today.

I guess I must have a self preservation criminal mind. First I wouldn't be driving a red convertible with the top down and having to deal with the dust from the California drought, plus making it that much easier to get a make on me. and whats with the suits and ties all the time. Dress casual criminals, more comfortable and you can run faster in the getaway. Make sure to change that air filter on that 57 Ford Sunliner.

The two way radios were HUGE, built into the trunk with an antenna tuner feeding a CB style 9 foot whip antenna. Only the controls were remote on the dash, much like a version of a Ham Radio that was put out. They transmitted just above the broadcast band and on a good old wood radio, you would see POLICE painted on the glass dial at the end of the BC band. The frequency would be good with all those high hills and "mountains" before repeaters and very high frequencies came into view. On good atmospherics and propagation, I , by luck heard base stations up to 500 miles away. I loved those flat head V8's in those cars. I even had one in a boat I owned. The torque was amazing for stock units and burning those non radial tires was something - couple of burn outs and you needed two new tires.
