*The actor who played "John Daggett" - the gray-haired crime boss, was played by actor Byron Morrow, and yet he was not given any credit in the list of guest actors at the end. Even so, he had over 230 screen credits, from Highway Patrol to The Andy Griffith Show to Perry Mason to I Dream of Jeannie, from drama to comedy and everything in between. He is also credited as the first actor to ever play an "admiral" on Star Trek, appearing in that famous TV series twice. And yes, he even turned up on Lost In Space. His acting career stretched all the way from the 1950's to the 1990's, and he lived all the way to see the 21st century. And yet, he wasn't even given credit in this episode....*

RON: I couldn't agree more; I feel like todays Hollywood is trying to "run faster" by using things like CG and blaring music. It may satisfy children with attention deficit but for the rest of us a good script, and good acting by actors who made it their passion. Not just any idiot who does enough favors. There used to be Class in the world. Its dwindling fast. Thank god we have people with enough of it to cherish these old shows and to post them for all of our enjoyment. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

What is it with quite a lot of old TV shows (it seems mostly) and old flicks that the frame and the relationship of foreground and background gets all wonky, like the original is projected on a screen that's being ruffled in the wind, and filmed again by someone who's wobbling back and forth and side to side? And the depth of field lengthens and shortens.

Clint Eastwood made his debut TV appearance as a young motorcycle "punk" and was a great looking guy. From there he went on to scenes in early cop movies until he made it big in Misty and the Dirty Harry movies and westerns. I wonder if Highway Patrol had an influence on him. I had a 57 Buick Special once for upteem yrs. Loaded, power everything. Tell ya' , like riding on air, but the handling was HORRIBLE. Guess the speed factor played a role in rolling up to the perps vehicles, as it had great get up for it's day and could easily bury the speedometer at 120.

Eastwood was paying his dues as a young actor in Hollywood. I think his first role was in the sci-fi giant ant movie "Them", playing the fighter jet pilot, but because he was wearing an oxygen mask, we never saw his face. Rawhide was his first big break, then he broke big into the movies as the Man With No Name in Sergio Leone westerns. His first leading role in America was Hang 'em High. He broke into directing in '71 with Play Misty For Me.
