Season 3
Episode 15
Handyman Harve Case robs local businessman Fred Briscoe of $11,000 in donations to the "Mother's March" for the children's wing of the local hospital. The initial investigation points to beautician Mabel Wayne, a committee member who knew how the funds would be transported. When Dan Mathews travels to Mabel's Hill-Top Beauty Salon to question her, he finds that she had been assaulted by Case after she found him trying to plant some of the stolen money in her salon. Dan learns that Case had previously overheard Mabel and Lucy Briscoe talking about plans for transporting the money. Case fires at Dan and attempts to escape on a motorcycle, but he is soon hemmed in by strategically placed roadblocks. Written by Sam Spear

It's notable in this series-- and others like it-- that it's the cautious, careful woman that often is proven right, altho she is portrayed as a nagging worry-wart. The lady in the above episode calls Highway Patrol despite the guy saying "nah, it'll be alright we don't need them'-- Not to mention all the crooks who say "we'll pull just ONE more job before we leave this town"-- while the women say "no, it's too risky-- we have to get out now while the gettin' is good." She is invariably proven correct but it usually goes unnoticed. Unfortunately what DOES get noticed is when the woman stands by, shivering and helpless, surrounded by heavy, blunt instruments, while her male partner is getting the life choked out of him. Then you see comments like 'stupid woman', 'useless woman'. Strange but true : )

Not so fast. Has to be evidence in the robbery trial. Speedy trial might get the money back to the charity collectors and to the children's hospital. In those days, trials weren't put off like now because of the overload of criminals on courts.

Interesting/informative/entertaining. Realistically portrayed citizens/criminals/law enforcement officials. Roll over & play dead criminals. No gory scenes-!!!😉 Remember Clint Eastwood played a biker passing thru a small town. Amazing how many special guest stars. From those ( TV ) series went on to established phenomenal acting careers-!!!😉. Remember Broderick in movies of that era.

Funny what thick skulls people had in the 50s - they get a blow on thead with gun, solid metal, which would put the average person in hospital for at least a day, and within a couple of minutes they have completely recovered. Amazing!
