Go to another attorney with all the info you have. Get a free consult (usually they are one hour). Be ready to explain your case to them within an hour and make it compelling enough so that they will do it for a percentage of the settlement you get if you win, but you won't owe them if you don't win. The goal is to sue the other law firm for damages. You may have to shop around on a case like this. Your hope is that you find a lawyer that dislikes the lawyer that screwed you, but also thinks you have a good enough chance of winning that he takes the case without any payment if you lose. And read all that paperwork you sign before hiring the lawyer. One of those is a fee agreement. Really read that one closely. And don't be afraid to ask questions. And circle parts of it you don't like and ask that it be changed. Edit: *fee agreement. Not "free" agreement.
