Just for the information to all the Non-Japanese speakers. The guy is known as "Oh-sama (meaning Lord King)" and he used be very famous for translating English rock lyrics to Japanese and play them. It's been nearly 30 years since I saw him on TV. He is 63year old and I'm glad he still does this. What a cool life !!😎

Made in Japan the best rock live album ever. The version of Lazy never played that way again. It's the best rock & roll anthem never to be equaled. Ian Gillian is the greatest rock vocalist of our time.

@@fabz1509 I know. I'm 66 years old and never forget the day my dad bought the album for me. I heard Lazy at my friends house the day before were his sister had it. After my dad gave it to me I went to my room and played it all day long. For me there are 2 live albums that have the best live versions of a song on them were they have no rival. 1) Lazy by Deep Purple on Made in Japan and Lou Reeds R&R Animal album Sweet Jane. It's the first song on the album. The intro leading to the song then the song is one of the greatest live songs ever done. For me it's number 2. If you havent heard it's a must.

He is Osama. It means "king," a pun on Queen. His outfit is a king of playing cards. He became a hot topic in the 90's when he sang a song with lyrics from Western music translated directly into Japanese. Many Japanese consider him a comedian because the direct translation results in something funny. It is surprising that he is still active, as he has been forgotten in Japan. The bassist is Tomoko Ogasawara of the all-female rock band REG-WINK (1987-1991).
@kevinklein95910 ай бұрын
Thank you for that info. I thought there might be a comedy aspect to his show. Tomoko is gorgeous. And plays all the bass parts note for note-I know this because I'm a bass player and have played many of those songs, not nearly as well as she does....lol@@okehazama

He once found success in Japan as a literal translation rocker. It was humorous because he translated directly instead of paraphrasing in English. Additionally, he is also a top-notch guitarist.
