@@yusufmuslim4420 Societal backlash. It is to be expected from a group of people who are dealing with a crushing inflation crisis and at the same time hosting over 5 million refugees. I'm not saying it is right but this is how humans collectively react in such situations. While we don't agree with this point of view, that shouldn't stop us from understanding it.

Finally, a western muslim moved to proper muslim city in Türkiye. All i see second or third generations pakistanis, middle easterners, africans want to hijrah to Türkiye but mostly their destination is Antalya. Antalya is very europeanized, famious with night life, one of the very last city to live islam properly. But at least this guy settled to Konya, konya or bursa is understandable.
@williamdavis9562
@williamdavis9562 11 ай бұрын
@Zabalayn, I spend a lot of time in Konya but I don't think it's proper to be so judgmental about people's choices in where to live. When living in the west rarely will anyone really know anything about Konya, it isn't highly advertised. Also there is also the aspect that some people just like the beach. Just because everyone around you in places like Antalya aren't living as you do, doesn't mean you can't do what you do incomfort and peace. Konya will gain more popularity as time goes on. Hell just 20 years ago no one outside of Turkey knew it existed and even people in Turkey considered a backwater they've never visited.

As a native Turk, I can assure you that we hate mass migration to our land. Especially from those countries that you've just mentioned. If your intention is to live in Islam, there are way better countries to serve this purpose such as Malaysia and Indonesia.

@Mohamed-fp3wl I've spent considerable amounts of time in Konya, a few years. Like all cities it has it's pros and cons but it seems like you're looking to hear the pros. 1. Low crime rate, in the vast majority of the city you can walk around at 2 am and not have to worry about getting mugged. 2. Great transport system. The public transport is top notch from buses, to dolmus (small van) to my favorite mode of transport the tramway. It is easy to get around the city and not break the bank. 3. Fantastic infrastructure. Roads, bridges, buildings, electricity grid the whole 9 on that front is top notch. 4. Lots and lots of hospitals with a high level of healthcare. In some cases I've had healthcare better than I got in the United States. 5. Don't know if this applies to you but it's an easy environment to practice your religion as it is a very pious part of the country (if not the most pious) 6. Amazing food. 7. It tends to be cheaper than most places expats look at. Places like Istanbul, Bursa, Antalya and what not. If you're interested let me know I'll shoot you a list of cons as well, it isn't paradise there and cons do exist.

@Liampayne3036. The country is essentially a mix of cultures due to it's geography. You'll get areas of the country where people aren't as accepting of Islam in the open then you'll get other places where it is welcomed. Depends on your cup of tea and where in the country you want to live in.

@Kaya2104. I get the place you're coming from considering the local population in Turkiye has not only been crushed by an inflation crisis but also at the same time had to shell out a lot of money, jobs, apartments and resources to over 4 million refugees. So how you feel on this issue is completely understandable. But you also have to understand that people moving there voluntarily are mostly professionals who will not be a drain on any of your resources. Most of them either bring more foreign currency into your nations or bring a particular set of skills which can only help the local economy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing you for feeling the way you do. I understand your point of view. I'm just saying there are more layers to all this than meets the eye. The west has been benefiting from a brain drain from the global south for 100 years. I don't think it is at all bad for Turkey to benefit from the brain drain leaving the west.

@@Cxesar Thank you for your kind words, I don't think what I did is worthy of Allah's reward, I was merely trying to articulate to the brother that not all migration of Muslims into his country will drain the nation's resources. However I do pray that everyone who does do an actual good deed is rewarded by Allah and specifically I pray that Allah rewards the Turks for giving 5 million refugees a new home and a new start to life. Jzk Thanks for the honest dialogue brothers. The biggest reason for not feeling the spiritual uplift in the mosques is probably the fact that the imam is not an Arabic speaker and therefore the recitation is never going to be good as an Arabic reciter. I feel the same, being from the west too. I feel that because we are trying to hold onto our faith in a western country, there is stronger unity. In Sha Allah more sheikhs and imams from Arabic speaking countries come there and teach the proper methods of tajweed or they hold these positions in the mosques.

I am from US and now spending time in Turkey during Ramadan. Recitation by trained Turkish Imams are impeccable and beautiful. It is the Express Taraweeh with shirt Surahs that has been bothering. FYI, There are many non-Arab Qaris who recite Quran better than many Arab Qaris.

I am not sure of your claim, are they worshipping tombs or just making dua for the deceased? You better be sure of this 100% because this is serious and you might need to account for it on the day of judgement. May Allah have mercy. Did you actually speak to these people in Turkish or with a translator, did they actually say we are worshipping the tombs?
@mash0000
@mash0000 Жыл бұрын
Bro, most people visiting these graves don't worship these graves or the dead person there. It is ziyarat of an awliya of Allah swt. They go there, say Salam, pray TO Allah swt for the dead person, and due themselves. Before accusing a whole people of shirk, please do a bit of research and talk to the people who visit there.
