Only a little list of different cultures which existed in Konya 1. roman 2. hittite 3. greek 4. seldchuken 5. ottoman. All of them left architecture and art behind. Also all religions were lived out in Konya. Only this city in Türkiye is bigger than the whole Netherlands. (Netherland=41.543 km² - Konya=43.523 km²)

I was born in Konya's first apartment building, called the Hayat Apt. in 1937 and lived there until 1954. I've not been able to visit the city since then. I ended up moving to U.S. almost 60 years ago. Amazingly enough in one section of the video I was able to see the Hayat Apt. behind you, facing the Alaaddin Hill. While watching the video it was really hard not to cry. When I was growing up in Konya it had a population of 60 thousand. We kids spent the summer days mostly at Alaaddin Hill. Every morning we walked to the High School near the Ataturk monument. In those days a family could not afford to buy you a bicycle. We could only rent it for the hour and ride it to Ataturk Monument. Since the only pawed road was around the Monument. There were no taxis. But you could hire a horse carriage to travel longer distances in the city. We also enjoyed riding to Meram and alone the way we could climb up the fruit trees and enjoyed eating them. Along with your many videos involving other Turkish cities, this one especially is such a lovely one. Thanks so much.

there is no misunderstanding. secular people would rather die to live in konya because there is literally no bar, pub, concert, music festival etc.. or a place which young people would flirt at. he said all of these in the video so people are right about konya.

@@ogunkovan I dont know have you ever been in Konya but you have to know the Bosna Hersek "the student center" you can do all of you said in there and also i dont think you understand him cuz he said just hard to find alcohol on the old town center but also he said "tekels" that he can buy alcohol and they're almost everywhere. Old town center isnt enables alcohol or something bad on religion because honor of Mevlana Celaleddini Rumi. So theres a big misunderstanding there. Hope you can come Konya soon and see your misunderstandings.

From San Diego we went to Turkey 7 times last 11 years , l guess we like this country . We lose about 10lb before we go because once we are there we can’t stop eating . And definitely a good investment to buy a silk carpet from a reputable carpet store , if you can befriend an nice Turkish women ask them to assist you where to buy on or how Much , because some stores in touristic areas inflated prices at least 30% , neighborhood carpet stores are the best bet but it’s an investment will last forever Hereke silk carpets are the best product

As for the symbolism of the Sema ritual itself, the semazen camel’s hair hat (called a sikke) represents a tombstone of the ego, while the white skirt (called a tenure) is the shroud of the ego. When the dervish takes off his black coak, he is meant to be spiritually reborn to the truth. At the beginning of the ceremony the dervish holds his arms crosswise to represent the number one, testifying God’s unity. While whirling, the dervish’s arms are open with his right hand directed to the sky, representing his readiness to receive God’s beneficence. The dervish’s left hand is turning toward the earth, representing his willingness to convey God’s spiritual gift to those witnessing the Sema. It is also believed that while revolving from right to left around his own heart, the dervish embraces all humanity with love, since Sufis believe that the human being was created with love in order to love. A quote by Rumi states that, ‘All loves are a bridge to Divine love. Yet, those who have not had a taste of it do not know.

Like city of Antalya have 278 mega resorts in a stretch of 85 miles of sea shores , world class gulf resorts in Bebek Antalya .all exclusive by the way . Fantastic buffets with delicious Turkish Cusine . There is no end to what you see and what you experience in Turkey . Real old to real modern new , you want it you got it .
