Ordinarily, commentators are really helpful for explaining what's going on in the game. With these matches, ... the players' thoughts very directly reveal what's going on *plus* there's the 'dramatic irony' where the audience gets to hear what each team thinks about the threats/resources in each position. The biggest downside I see is the fashionable tendency towards drawn positions.

I think it was distracting sometimes, but overall it was a great way to show viewers the top moves. TeamChess is great when the teammates are relatively same ELO. When one teammate just outclasses the other. Its hard for the one getting outclassed to be involved. Imagine being Levy for a second. Hikaru is in the top 3 of the world in any format xD this is about evenly matched top players (as pairs), where all those fancy heads like Levy say that the KID is already bad 😂 and he got badly beaten then. Which means that unlike what they were saying, you can play the KID against almost anyone (only exceptions probably Hikaru and Magnus). And that was my point; that Hikaru wins it on his own probably is such an obvious statement... The point is that the KID is just perfect for human chess
@gratitud14310 ай бұрын
@@nanashiv2what do you mean by 'outplayed in the opening'. That's such a bland statement and speaks volumes of your understanding of the KID. Even if we go by engine standards (which is a terrible way to judge the KID for human play) they were only momentarily down .7 or .8 which is what you normally have in the KID. The majority of the time being at .5 or lower and having serious fighting chances is a dream for the KID. "outplayed" smh
