00:00 Hello Everyone!
Norway Chess is a 10-player round-robin featuring Top 5 stars Magnus Carlsen, Alireza Firouzja and Hikaru Nakamura taking place in Stavanger, Norway from 30 May to 9 June. Each of the 9 rounds consists of a classical game where a win is worth 2 points and a loss 0. If the players draw they play an Armageddon game, where the winner earns 1.5 points and the loser 1 point. No draw offers are allowed before move 30.
The 3+2 blitz opener takes place on Monday 29th and will give the winners the chance to pick their pairing numbers for the main event. The classical time control is 2 hours for all moves, with a 10-second increment per move only after move 40. For Armageddon White (the same player who had White in the classical game) has 10 minutes to Black's 7, with a 1-second increment from move 41. Black wins if the game ends in a draw. A tie for 1st place will be decided by two 3+2 blitz games followed, if necessary, by a 5 vs. 4-minute Armageddon game. Official website: norwaychess.no

Some Iranians say Alireza (and Mohammadreza?) Firouzja is a traitor to Iran. (Source: xbw4kx ) I have no idea if that's true (anyone have ideas?), but: Bobby Fischer would agree with me. What do Daniil & Hikaru have in common? Both betray their country for Magnus. Hikaru Nakamura is almost as evil as the Hikaru in Oshi no Ko. Magnus Carlsen is almost as evil as Light Yagami. T0 - Now, Daniil & Hikaru are traitors for Magnus but not Norway, which was never the villain. Magnus is the villain (but not a supervillain like Hans Niemann. cf Megamind). T1 - Hikaru Nakamura is a traitor to the US for BASELESSLY siding with Magnus Carlsen over fellow American Hans Niemann. There's an episode of American Dragon Jake Long where Jake is accidentally sold by h friends. Here, Hans is intentionally sold by h compatriot. (Hans is Jake. Rotwood is Magnus.) American Dragon Jake Long Meet American Traitor Hikaru Nakamura. They're both Americans of East Asian descent. Lol. T2 - Daniil Dubov is a traitor to Jews & Russians for siding with Magnus over fellow Jewish Russians Ian Nepomniachtchi & Sergey Karjakin in the 2021 WCC. T3 - Will you be surprised if Daniil & Hikaru change federations to Norway? T4 - Garry Kasparov cheated fellow Jew Judit Polgar in the 1994 Linares. This makes Garry T4.1 - a traitor to Jews since Judit is Jewish T4.2 - necessarily not GOAT / MTOAT because you can't be valedictorian if you cheated T4.3 - a mentor of Magnus Carlsen who similarly cheated Alireza Firouzja, Daniel Danya Naroditsky & Ian Nepo Nepomniachtchi. SAYNOTO2900 GOD BLESS AMERICA. T5 - Also some Americans or Philippine people / Filipinos / Filipinas are traitors if they don't consider Wesley So the REAL world champion for the period 2019Nov - 2023Mar. (Kidding...sort of.) - T5.1 - Or worse, they consider Wesley So a traitor for moving to the US when Eugene Torre supports the decision which was practically forced due to the corruption of Philippine chess president Prospero Pichay Jr who was somehow re-elected in 2022 July despite being convicted of graft in 2022 June. Probably the same reason Arianne Caoili (Levon Aronian's dead spouse) left the Philippines for Australia. Try telling Levon that Arianne was a traitor. - T5.2 - Oh also 1 person did tell me e didn't like Wesley So because of what Wesley So said to h bio mom Leny So. Leny So & Prospero Pichay are HUGE traitors to Philippine chess. F()K LENY SO. F()K PICHAY. Also Leny So said to Wesley So 'putang ina mo.' Wesley So's response: 'Kinda funny that.' LOL. Source: 0J3K-3_xCzY . . . . . P.S. Please help get Wesley So on Lex Fridman's podcast. See xcdhgq

@@nicbentulan what's your deal? Why are you on here slandering Alireza? You ever live under the Iranian regime? The brutal totalitarian regime that is a state sponsor for terrorism,and executes women for not wearing a mask? He moved to be free and to pursue his chess career with out having to be mired in anything that is going on there in Iran...he just wanted to BE FREE end of story now KICK ROCKS. Find something better to do with your time.
@nicbentulan
@nicbentulan Жыл бұрын
@@robertocalderon1584 I'm not slandering at all, well at least not Alireza. I'm mostly slandering Magnus lol. I don't think Alireza is a traitor. I'm saying other people say Alireza is. Don't shoot the messenger. 1 - Btw this isn't about Alireza at all. I'm using Alireza to kinda like 'bait' people into reading my comment when it's really about how Hikaru, Garry, Daniil, et al are traitors. 2 - also I am curious actually why people say that about Alireza. Even if you disagree maybe you have some ideas why people think that?
@robertocalderon1584
@robertocalderon1584 Жыл бұрын
@@nicbentulan yeah you are slandering Alireza dude, and by your own admission doing so as "bait" so quite capriciously for no related reason at all. As far as Magnus like i said if he is wrong I'm sure he be embarrassed/contrite, but his ability puts him into a very unique position to fall victim to that. All Alireza did is reach for freedom. You ever been to France? It's beautiful 😍 you ever been to Iran? Why don't you ask Siamak Namaz or Masha Amini what a wonderful place it is...im American born and raised buy as soon as I'm able I am asserting my "right of return" to the country if Ireland, not because I'm a traitor, but because the situation is out of control here, same as it is in Iran. The Iranian regime us stupid...Alireza was the best thing to come out of Persia in a very long time and they are the worst that asserted themselves into his career and refused to let him play a tournament in Israel because "death to Israel, death to America " and all the rest of that foolishness. The kids just trying to play chess and earn a living. Did you put the work in he did to gain that career? Did the Iranian government? No, you didn't...so that's what we call an "overreach of power" plain and simple, why should anyone be happy or willing to live under that...they had every opportunity to get out of the way,and NIT politicize this young man's career, but they are so neurotic they couldn't help themselves. See me? If Hans cheated I'm all for forgiving him, why should he be punished ghe rest of his life? And if I'd forgive Hans for actually cheating ( hypothetically of course) why wouldn't I forgive Magnus for being hot-headed and quick to make an accusation? Quit acting like a simpleton.

A novelty on move 8 in the 500 year old kings gambit, chess is amazing
@crystallized1676

Well it was simply bad move ;p There are though novelties on move 7-9 in KG which are by fact the best or close second best moves :D It's not that chess is amazing, it's KG being totally insane. Noone touches it anymore as people have realized nobody can't play it properly on it's own. Hiki 8 inaccuracies and 1 blunder, Magnus 3 inaccuracies and 2 mistakes. That tells a lot :)

Ever hear of a guy named Garry Kasparov? First player to ever eclipse 2800 ELO rating? Great world champion? Many people put him right there with Bobby, and Kasparov was actually more dominant than Bobby in his prime. The thing is I still think Bobby was the greatest, you will only beat Bobby so long,and he lived chess to a greater degree than anyone else mentioned. It was quite literally said by all who knew him it was all the man did,or cared about, a singular focus.

Yeah it's really funny thing with KG OTB. People will never say you a warm word about it but if you don't lose with it noone later plays e5 :D I remember playing it in my first OTB game ever (rapid) against some 1750 FIDE and I won... noone this or next (was weekly club tournement) dared to play e5 and there were 2k+ players xd People somehow feel that losing as black in KG is being ridiculed and try to avoid even having a chance. They only love it when it's played in a way can't interact with them so at otb tournament you won't be encouraged to play it more ;p I rarely play OTB but nevertheless I have been waiting now 6 or 7 years for 1 ...e5 against me :D Gossip had spread in the neighbourhood that "THIS GUY PLAYS KG" so no fun for me ;p Though it has positive: no prepping 1. ...e5 :> Online I play KG as a main against e5 and yeah I rarely lose :p Can sometimes even beat with it max Komodo or max SF on lichess. It's not that it is bad opening per se - it's just insanely hard to play especially with white but for Black as well. You can't afford to make any misstep as white.

As someone who plays the king's gambit quite a lot I believe it is kind of a poor choice for such fast games IMO - yes, you are attacking and forcing black to spend time defending but you also need to calculate quite a bit to not lose the game so while in a 5 min game and above you might crush your opponent, in bullet or even 3|0 you probably will find yourself in a lot of problems

This game doesn't look like the usual entanglements these two get into, both players seemed to play in a different style (opening aside) 🤔 still good chess, but odd. ❤
