This match was the climax of the show. Of course there were many more episodes after this, but nothing ever topped this moment in the anime. As it should be-- the writers properly enshrined the gravity of this moment forever in the series.

You can always count on for the Japanese animation studio to make an anime about a game that most people perceived as boring and make it more exciting than american animation about the end of the multiverse

When you don't know how to play go. Nor are you interested in learning how to play go. But you continue to watch an anime about go without a clue as to what they're doing thinking how good the anime is LOL~ This just shows. Nobody really cares about fight scenes. IT's all about build up and storylines.

I understood Queen’s gambit as chess pieces could only move in a certain way but for Hikaru no Go it different. Go is so complex and complicated its hard to understand compared to The Queen’s Gambit
@Turtle16319912 жыл бұрын
@@illumination_0109 Go is at the time more simple and more complicated than chess. That is what keeps me playing. There is certain subtle beauty and elegance in the way complex situations will emerge naturally and seamlessly from set of extremely simple rules. You can learn to play go according to the rules probably within 30 minites but I know people who play for 15 years and are still at kyu level...

interesting, technically, Sai would have lost using the more modern 6.5 or 7.5 komi. at 5:01, AI these days would have have played at D3 rather than D2 for Toya it is apparent Sai was going for territory but Toya was was going for influence, a more modern Go approach, which would fit the story narrative.

AlphaGo was actually very instrumental in the development of the game. It pushed the development of Go to places that hasn't been explored yet.
@taoliu39493 жыл бұрын
@김영재 Not really, all AlphaGo has done was break previous status quo when it came to josekis and fusekis. The game has significantly opened up to new innovation. Its the same thing as when every other Go master introduced his own developments that revolutionized the game and everyone tried to follow suit.
@taoliu39493 жыл бұрын
@김영재 No, hell no. That's not how you learn the game, you can't just memorize joseki. You need to learn the reason behind every move or you won't be able to respond to variations. If you just memorize Joseki, you'll actually get worse.

@@jorgeyipzhong5199 I would have to rewatch the show to remember the specifics, but when Sai was beating everyone over summer break it got the attention of all the pros. I'm certain that a pro of touya's caliber would do all the research on his opponent as he could. In chess, pros will often be able to cite many of their opponents games and even have them memorized from all their prep. I'm sure it is the same in the Go world. @김영재 indeed, but what I meant is, for many years sai has been pursuing the divine move and thought he accomplish it by defeating Toya, but his mind change again after seeing hikaru point out a loophole on his play against Toya. Now imagine if he played Go against the AI, he really will be disappointed, that he's wayyyyy far from the divine move.
@purpleltv38172 жыл бұрын
@김영재컴퓨터공학전공 I like where the manga/anime is going with this. Like you said, Honinbo is not at the level of today's pro. However the anime does not feature Honinbo, it features Sai. A fictional character that is supposedly Honinbo, who comes into the modern era and over the course of several years sticking to Hikaru, learns modern Go. Essentially it is an evolved Honinbo. Is he on the same level of today's pros? Hard to say, since it's a fictional character. But the potential surely is there.
