Love the Infotainment here man! However I would like to add a little touch up. Injuries are only the result of a discrepancy in between workload and work capacity. Therefore an athlete that doesn't normally work out should maybe first work to a capacity of sustaining an hour in zone two, which is definitely not an easy task. only if that base is acquired i would recommend to slowly start dipping your toes into some zone four stuff as a intro into intensity and to see how your body reacts. a great start for someone would be the C25K program which gets you running for 5k straight pretty much without injury. Done that and still interested? Do the whole thing again this time with your pack! did that? your good to go for the advised above. in building true endurance I would go as far as to suggest an 80/20 split. where 80% of your workouts represent Zone two and 20% come in that zone four. That is if your goal is to become a beast, get absolutely gassed and remain injury free!
