Fucking sand paper to my softest parts , I don’t want to hear this shit . Quit following you when you shared about that misfortunate person that lost his life , why ? All the wrong reasons I am sure . Horses taught me how to communicate with people . I am in training to paraglide , only twenty flights deep and $10.000 out of pocket .Why ? Honestly still not sure . I have quit drugs and alcohol and full time work to live this adventure ; ( and that still doesn’t satisfy my why ! Possibly the knock on the door of the reaper and prove I am not afraid , ( I probably am ) This Journey is thus far fulfilling and exciting and frustrating . Learning all things necessary is a challenge the weather and testing and reading are pushing boundaries I haven’t faced since failing High School . Examining myself and motivation is again new to me . As I push forward I will endeavor not to become callous to reality . And keep expanding my vision of love, empathy and passion for life . Jerry Lee .. P S thank you for sharing your experience !

……Jealous……….Cloud base at 13,000ft?? Here in the UK it is invariably 500ft and if you can fly ’far’ you are likely to end up in the sea!! 🤪🤣

I am new paraglider at 18 and got lucky to buy a 400 dollar ozone buzz z3 and have been inspired with your content since. Hopefully I can become as skilled as you and utilize the science of the air to become an even better pilot! I'm in Florida so my options for paragliding are mostly limited to groundhandling since I don't have a paramotor. But it's fine since I needed the months to learn groundhandling because I wouldn't be prepared for a motor back then

Ed Conover is such a great guy! I fly with him at my home sites, i got to fly with him at Woodrat last weekend. Such a good guy, and he has definitely taught me some things In my slow progression. Definitely great to be able to have mentors that are happy to help. And can explain things in a way that understands.

Where are you launching from on these flights? Also how do you get back? Hitchhike?
@MattnUska19 күн бұрын
Where I live it’s fairly easy to hitchhike with a paraglider on your back. I think I have heard Ari say he usually has a retrieve driver.

You mention in first solution- "ringing the bell" ie. full brake pull.- but not which side. Maybe its obvious but do we assume that is TOWARD the SAME SIDE , in the direction of the cravat/ collapsed wing tip? it seemed like that (same side) based on your body language indicating right hand side to illustrate cravat and brake pull in video. One thing you didn't mention which i noticed during a recent significant cravat was how far away from the collapsed wing tip i had to lean and as a result how difficult was to pull the stabilio or reach the effected lineset to adjust. #1:Staying calm was certainly helpful. Same question for the spin/stall technique (around8:00) would you spin stall towards the already cravatted side as iI would've thought. or away from the cravat . You don't indicate direction, in either case. I would think it would be obvious (*towards cravat) )however just to be sure I'll ask the stupid question. Thank you for the clarification/ confirmation. *edit. you did say "same side "towards the end when describing the deliberate second assymetrical as a solution to collapse. edit* One thing i did do to solve my issue was dive the wing AWAY from the cravated side using weight shift on the inflated side and then reinflate the pressure across the wing span with inside brake (away from cravat) -worked like a charm. big sigh of relief. lol Great videos. appreciate your insight & enthusiasm. Thank you!

Love the Infotainment here man! However I would like to add a little touch up. Injuries are only the result of a discrepancy in between workload and work capacity. Therefore an athlete that doesn't normally work out should maybe first work to a capacity of sustaining an hour in zone two, which is definitely not an easy task. only if that base is acquired i would recommend to slowly start dipping your toes into some zone four stuff as a intro into intensity and to see how your body reacts. a great start for someone would be the C25K program which gets you running for 5k straight pretty much without injury. Done that and still interested? Do the whole thing again this time with your pack! did that? your good to go for the advised above. in building true endurance I would go as far as to suggest an 80/20 split. where 80% of your workouts represent Zone two and 20% come in that zone four. That is if your goal is to become a beast, get absolutely gassed and remain injury free!

I’m 55 and want to get into para motoring. Watching a lot of utube for a few months now. I kind of like this guy. I bought the seed a month ago…so hard without wind. I know that because on my third visit to a field I had a little wind and then I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. So exciting when that thing inflated and I started to see that I somewhat was controlling it.

I have the Impress 4 also and use similar packing method, ruling out the need for packing pillow, and wing is always connected to harness. Holding the A-lines and shaking the glider over concertina bag - I call it the Steve Ham method as he showed it to me. This aligns the leading edges well, although I always also gather them one by one. Furthermore, after concertina is closed, I place it so that the leading edges are against the back of the backpack as there's more padding, and a lump of human, so it's more protected, and it's more straight than the outer curved side of the backpack which is more exposed to the elements, hits and cuts. Cheers.

The final few bits of text get covered up by the Next Video recommendation, so: "Hope that helps! Its a paraglider, fly it and don't worry that much about your packjob. Trade it for experience by turning it to dust in the sky!"

Great Video Ari, keep them coming. Surely this is only specific to the High AR two liners, for instance, I've just changed from the Flow Fusion ( 6.35 AR ) to the new Gin Bonanza 3 ( 6.3 AR ) The bonanza as a two liner has less AR than the Fusion three liner, surely my brake travel is roughly the same as the span is similar, however, for the upper AR wings, Zeno - Zeolite - Peak 6 the brake travel will be longer because the span is bigger, or am I wrong 🫣
@siskygod44Ай бұрын
Nice video 🤩👍 I think there are *almost* as many ways of packing a glider, as there are pilots 🤣 Recently, I try to collapse my glider when I land, so that it's half on top of itself, wing-tip to wing-tip, lines inside, top-surface outermost. Then, I lay the concertina bag next to the wing-tips, and starting with the *uppermost tip*, arms stretched out, concertina it into the bag. The advantage is that the wing isn't dragged over the ground - only over itself. The disadvantage is that my arms aren't quite long enough to do it without the occasional bit of extra folding. 😂😂😂 Cheers buddie. 😁👍
