Hi Gerry! Isn’t that a great name for these pretty white lilies! They seem to grow really well in the avalanche chutes and narrow creek drainages… plus other areas of course, and they bloom right as the snow is melting, maybe that’s how they got their name. 😄 It turned out to be a great sunny day - this is now one of our new favorites! Mount Rainier is on my bucket list. Great light during the start. Beautiful trail but it is up up up which also means some nice flowing water. Nice job crossing the stream. Lovely to see that snow on the peaks. Thanks for the take along. Cheers and like

The trail description says "the creek has drifted a bit", lol- so a lot of it doesn't go under the log bridge at the moment. :) Steve is great abut going ahead and testing the rocks to see fi they wiggle and showing me a good path across- isn't he a gentleman! :) I'm happy to hear you've got Rainier on your bucket list- you'll love it!! :) Thanks, cheers!

This was a really beautiful hike, Jennifer. Loved the big trees in the forest and the sound of the rushing water. The stream crossing moving from rock to rock is not for the faint of heart!

Hi Donna- it was pretty interesting to have a big portion of the river ignore the log bridge and go around it! lol! Steve is a big help figuring out which rocks are wiggly and finding a good route across. The water was moving pretty fast, but it wasn’t too awfully deep. What a beautiful area! I have always really enjoyed the east part of the park. Those were some nice Doug fir trees, looked like some nice old growth. Once you got up into the alpine the views were breathtaking. Great video!

Wow the sounds from the water is getting louder and louder 3:59 wow, slippery..be careful 6:41 wow, I hold my breath just looking up 12:22 14:10 Quite distance, but the trail seems to easy to walk on. I am still learning to identify flowers that are so precious. Thank you so much for making my day. Aw-moments continue. lol See you soon. I will be chasing waterfalls where the movies were filmed. Hi Jen , It was so nice to enjoy the sound of the stream. Nice hike with these small bridges crossing the torrent, the undergrowth certainly fragrant under the conifers. I love this atmosphere. I think you immediately feel "welcomed" in that kind of environment. And what a host...that cute squirrel. Such a name...." frying pan creek " 😉But crossing it when its waters are impetuous,...not easy. With a bridge it’s good too. You did it, Jen!! I often find this kind of situation a bit stressful.. 😬 Your butterflies pics are really amazing. The squirrel at the end looks different. I saw many of them in Canarias islands . The summer in Mountain is really an experience. Thanks for sharing yours 🥾🥾👍💛💛💛

Hello my dear friend! Thank you for your kindness! O yes, it does feel very calm and welcoming in the forest with all the old trees supporting and shading all the other life. The trails in this park are really well designed and maintained. It was a bit stressful crossing the creek since the bridge was only over 1/2… Steve is very good at going first and checking to see if the rocks are wobbly or firm, and choosing a good way across. I’ve gotten used to crossing of bridges where there is a railing on only one side too! The effort is worthwhile when we come into the alpine meadows and see the mountain up close 😄💙 I’m really happy that you love nature too! 💕🌸🦋💙🌻💛

I really enjoy seeing these great views and the sun, especially as we have had one of the wettest Julys on record and August has started the same here too. Looked a great trail to follow and I sometimes wonder who names these trails and mountains. The falls looked great although I am getting real used to seeing plenty of water this summer in the UK and that was an interesting bridge across the river.....Funny seeing all the snow still there in the middle of summer, having said that, I think winter has come early to us this year, cheers Alan

Hi Alan! I’m sorry that you’ve had so much rain this summer! It’s been pretty dry here, and we’ve had to water the plants and trees quite a bit, but it’s made for some awesome hiking days! What’s up with the weather anyway? It’s been so hot in the southern US, like in Phoenix where it was over 110 each day for a month or so! Yikes, that was difficult. I hope the cows and sheep are doing ok with such a wet summer! 😄🌻🌻🌻 Cheers - Jen!

Wow! I have always imagined what it was like up there ,having only seen Mt.Rainier from Vancouver Island and the Seattle area throughout most of my life. I wasn't aware of it's original native people's name " Tahoma". Those spectacular views have satisfied my curiosity and perhaps it is even more beautiful that I had imagined. oh wow that was so beautiful Jennifer. Such gorgeous scenery. I loved seeing the wildflowers and the butterflies too and the meadow was great, as well as the rushing water. That chipmunk was so sweet too and the swallowtail. I love those wooden bridges as well.

Hi Nicole! This is another one of the trails where you might have driven past the sign quite often, but not had time to do the hike. It’s quite amazing to come out of the forest into these wonderful high meadows! It really was refreshing to hear the rushing water and then to see so many butterflies! Hi Bruce and Otis! O yes, we love the rushing mountain streams! They’re amazing! We loved hiking in the forest and seeing all those wonderful trees- I wonder how many there are! Stairs, yes, they’re interesting- when it’s so steep they can be difficult- and with so much foot traffic they do get worn down. I’m a big fan of the switchbacks- the trail engineers do a great job with design and getting us up to these special places. I’m not sure if the CCC help build these trails- they did a lot of work to help establish the park. Thanks and have a great weekend! 😄🏔️💚🌲🦋💙

Beautiful hike on a beautiful day in a beautiful place. Have you done either the Fremont or Tolmie Peak fire lookouts at Mt. Rainier? Well worth it and would make great videos. I've done the Summerland Meadow hike and then on up to Panhandle Gap. I have pictures from that day, but I don't really need them. The memories are seared in my soul.

Hi Dennis! Wonderful! I’m happy you Loved hiking here!! 👌💙💚 We loved this hike and would love to get out to Panhandle Gap next time! Yes, I hiked to the Fremont Lookout last summer (made a video) and thoroughly enjoyed the hike and views. After that hike I also hiked to Grand Park from the lower / outside trail. Wow, loved that hike too! I’ve got Tolmie Peak Lookout high on my list - hopefully I’ll get there in the next couple of weeks! Thanks! There’s just a short window for hiking to see the wildflowers… I’m hoping to hike Spray Park also, but might have to put that off until next year. So many trails, so little time. Thanks! Lol! Yep- that would help! The trail description online said the creek has moved a bit- haha! Steve was a great help texting the rocks for wiggles and showing a good way to go. We both kept our feet dry! Sometimes there’s more snow melt through the day and you can really see the creek levels rise later in the day! Thanks for joining us- another one in the books!! 😁😎💚💚🦋💙
