Hike Up Gregory Bald (Flame Azaleas, Bear Encounter)

We hiked up to the top of Gregory Bald, to see the flame azaleas, which always bloom in mid to late June. They come in numerous colors...Red, white, pink, salmon, coral, etc.
It is truly a display to see! Unfortunately, due to a cooler than normal spring, the blooms were delayed by a few days, so we arrived before peak.
The music for the picture slideshow, is "Appalachian Sunrise", from the album "Sounds Of The Great Smoky Mountains". We do not own the rights to this music, but we highly recommend purchasing this album, for our visit to the Great Smoky Mountains. We especially love listening to this while riding through Cades Cove.
