The 11th commandment should be, " THOU SHALT NOT WATCH KZbin FOOD REVIEWS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT"! This made me so hungry. That chicken pie portion was huge and glad the fried chicken was good and available that day.

Yes, I couldn't believe how big of a portion they gave her. And the fried chicken was worth waiting for them to bring it out. I didn't mind having to wait, because it gave me time to eat my other stuff, and that meant I was getting it fresh.

Yeah, I was kind of amused at how my dessert was listed on the receipt. And yes, I can see how that would make one think of a school. This cafeteria was okay, but probably a one and done for us.

No upgrades to the room since the 70s, except the flatscreen. Thank goodness for the casino dollars coming in, without that influx the area would be third world nation like it was when I last visited as a kid

In a way, though, we like that old time retro motel feel. We don't get to experience that much anymore. The room was clean, and that's really what's important to us. And we've never been on the grounds of the casino, and never plan to.

Your video brought back alot of memories. Me and hubby use to tent camp all the time!! At 70, we need something a little softer to lay on, hahaha! We hope one day to find us a small self contained camper. We think that nowadays that we would enjoy it alot better!! We also have a little dog. However, she has never been camping. We think she would like it but she has to be on a leash because if she gets a chance she will take off!!!! Take care and God Bless!!!

We just now watched this video. What a huge place. It would take days to see everything. By the way there is a stadium seat hanging somewhere inside on a wall marking where Harmon Killebrew hit a 520 foot homerun. A plaque marking home plate is at the Nicklelodeon Universe section. We enjoyed watching yall explore the mall.

I wish I had seen those things while we were there. I would certainly have included that in the video. Yes, it is a huge mall. We were dead tired that night. We had driven all night to even get to Minnesota, and had just checked into our room and then went to the mall. We wanted to do a video there, and we knew we were leaving early the next morning to go to her family's place. That was really our only chance, but I wish we had been able to sleep first.

Like everything a good cafeteria is great but a poor one can be really bad, similar to a buffet. Their potatoes and Mac and cheese looked great. Not a fan of pot pie. Good review as always don’t blame the kid I won’t not share my cheesecake either.

Yeah, but it was way too big of a piece for a 3 or 4 year old boy. He would have just as soon his brother have done without. J&S is really good as far as cafeterias go. The one we ate at the other week, was okay, but nowhere near on this level.

I guess. It was our children that informed us of that little gem. I sure never had looked at it that way. I remember after they told us that and complained about going that night, we got there, and there were all kinds of other kids their age in there with their families. I made sure and pointed that out to them.

We miss J&S in Hickory also. There quality did go down the last few years though. Been to Pigeon Forge and West Asheville also. Our boys are 42 and 36 and know what you mean "not cool". Hope to catch y'all around Granite sometime. God Bless!

Yes, the mashed potatoes were absolutely real. They even had a few clumps in them. But they were as good as any I've had in any southern style cooking restaurant.

I think that's pretty much a toss-up, as their chicken is very similar. I love K&W, and I love J&S. The breading on the chicken at J&S might be just a little bit more crispy, which I do like.

Oh I’m so happy to see this!! I grew up camping at Cade’s Cove and haven’t camped there in years. I was wondering about generators - I read there is a section people can use them and was concerned about noise. The last thing I want to do is listen to generators running☺️ Looks pretty quiet where you were, though☺️☺️
