Hike up Pen Yr Ole Wen - Ogwen Valley, Snowdonia

My first hike of 2023 in the Ogwen Valley Snowdonia tackling 3 of the Welsh 3000's... Pen Yr Ole Wen (3,208ft), Carnedd Dafydd (3,425ft) and Carnedd Llewelyn (3,490ft).
This is a great hike with views across to the mighty Tryfan and the Glyders, which I'd be tackling the following day and will be released as next weeks video.
Apologies for the poor audio in this video with lots of wind. I did record all my audio on my Wireless DJI Mic however disaster struck as I used the same mic the following day and lost the mic climbing Tryfan. I have tried my best where possible to reduce some of the wind noise and hope it's bareable.

It’s better footage in the video next week for Tryfan as just a bit of learning how to use it for the best shots and obviously with rain didn’t realise it stuck to the lens so need to sort that. Love the stool. I actually bought it the second I saw yours so I’ve had it for ages and used it lots and love it. Perfect and take on every day hike and save the chair for camps. Back off to wales this weekend for Tryfan and Glyders sat and the moel siabod on the Sunday. Let me know if you fancy company on any hikes 👍🏻

Cheers Darren. Do love the new camera although it was a bit wet on this one so not the clearest but just learning with it. Nice to have different angles. Part 2 out tomorrow maybe, sticking to every Wednesday at 6pm as much as I can. Should have the next 3-4 weeks covered already too.

@@krisgleave yeah I'd seen the Tryfan event and gutted I can't make that as my son is with this weekend. Fisherman's walk is another one I've yet to do but like the look of it. There'll be plenty more events for it I'm sure now the seasons are starting to turn. Looking forward to warmer and lighter days ahead.

It’s a great hike. You have a few options too as this hit 3 of the peaks and actually can hit 4 or more if you wanted to. If you end up staying longer I do advise Tryfan opposite too as that’s an awesome mountain and my favourite. Good luck.

Cheers James. I agree as love to show all parts of ascents and walks as much as I can as like you say most people miss it. I’m the same with my long distance hikes like the coast to coast. Most people film the same sections but when you do it yourself you realise there’s a lot missed that’s be good for people to see

This is the big Agnes Skyline UL stool. I take this for day hikes then on a camp like this or my Helinox Chair Zero. The stool is a good height and good price too and lightweight.
