Alpacka Packraft Overview + Paddle/Hike to Widgeon Falls in Pinecone-Burke Prov. Park, BC

A detailed overview of our Alpacka Packraft (often used and much loved during our campervan trips), including the Aqua Bound paddle and the inflation pump we use. We also share Gordon's stunning paddle and hike up the Widgeon Slough in the Pitt Lake area into Pinecone-Burke Provincial Park in BC.

That area is beautiful. I haven't been up Widgeon Creek for many years but its a wonderful paddle and I have camped overnight before. Definitely recommend locking your food up in the bins on site as bears are common in the area. We actually bought packrafts because of your previous videos (you answered some questions for me at the time - thanks). Both Alpackas, one the Mule and other the Classic. They have the cargo fly which makes deflation a breeze and have loaded up the insides to store gear. True, they don't track super well and can be trickier in the wind than a traditional canoe or kayak, however, they make up for this in spades with the compact size for storage and portability.

Nice to hear about the boats...sounds great and a lot of fun! We would likely add a cargo fly for a future boat, although typically we are day trippers only. Had not considered the deflation benefits. Thanks for watching and best of the season! 🚐

Beautiful video. Just picked up our Ranger today. Can't wait to get out, but wondering if I need cold water gear at this time of year. The Ranger is a self bailer,, but I know from paddling an Advanced Frame that the paddles sometimes bring in water. Would be lovely to see you folks out there sometime. We are a short drive from this area.

Great Video! Everything looked so peaceful up there. I hope to take my explorer 42 out a lot more than I did last year. I want to go out on the New River in Virginia and maybe even go out on the Chesapeake bay this year. Hopefully I may even make it out to the Elkhorn in Wyoming. There are all kinds of places that I would love to go. Work just seems to smarts get in the way. Lol
