It was a nice surprise for Rose and I to see you in person and thank you for all the RV travel and hiking ideas mostly around beautiful BC and the lower mainland where we are fortunate to live as well. This is a favorite channel of ours. Thanks again.

So great that you guys get out even in the winter. It's inspiring as I usually turn into more of a couch potato this time of year :-)!

Usually do get out, less often but certainly tougher with rain and now the COVID situation. Appreciate the comment!

I appreciate how Gordon is cautious when walking through water that he can not see the bottom. Better to take your time. Thank you for the nice video AND picking up the glass bottle. Stay healthy.

I (Gordon) was more worried I would slip in the mud! Of course, it may have been amusing to have on video! Appreciate the comment! 🚐

Beautiful! Amazing how much wildlife can be found so close to heavily populated areas, and within sound of busy highways. The fish skeletons were very interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Glad you enjoyed! Actually had a few large fish jump right out of water in the Fraser, but not fast enough on the camera!

That was great! Love the beautiful birds and scenery! And a seal? I have started to pick up trash in honor of you guys AND Henry Wang. Thank you for your awesome videos. Looking forward to more! Stay well.

If Henry sees this comment you will make him very happy! Even a simple act of cleaning up where we all play adds up! Appreciate you watching and glad you enjoyed, it was a fun short paddle!

Glad you enjoyed! Yes, we are lucky to live here, but one thing we note when we travel...so many other beautiful areas as well!

Another great video, weather looks good considering the time of year, it’s dull,grey and wet here these past few weeks, bright skies are rare at this time of the year but when we have them it’s time to visit the coast some 30 minutes away which breaks the monotony of the housing during the restrictions we are currently under and safely increasing infections.Thanks for bring your stunning scenery into our lives.😁👍

Starting in December we had a week or so of sunny and not too cool weather which we took advantage of while staying close to home. Now back to ☔️. There is always value In getting outside when you can! Appreciate the comment! Be safe and be well!

Another lovely video. Thanks for sharing. Have you heard that there are bears in Colony Farms? Thinking of getting the Alpacka inflatable packraft. Which model do you have? Take care and stay safe
@hikenrv4 жыл бұрын
We have the Explorer 42 model. It is big enough for the two of us for a short paddle, and lots of room for one and gear (or a dog). It weights about 8lbs and folds down to the size of a small 2 person tent. We just did a short video overview of the boat a few days ago and will likely post in a few weeks (we get lots of questions on this). Also check out the boats by Kokopelli. There is also a local Vancouver based company that will likely launch early next year if all goes well. Appreciate the comment and safe travels (once we can all do so)! 🚐

Brunette River can also be a nice urban paddle. Put in @ Hume Park in New West.

Hi Gordon and Miki! Greetings from Ohio! We are in the same “boat”...excuse the pun. We’re staying close to home for the next several months and looking to do more local activities. As non-kayakers, we’re interested in your pack raft. Could you provide more info on it, how easy/hard it is to paddle, weight, and whether you’d buy it again...where? Thanks for all your wonderfully scenic videos and hope you both have a great holiday! Leslie
@hikenrv3 жыл бұрын
Hi Leslie...your timing is amazing. Literally just reviewing the first ‘draft’ of a video on the packraft! Hopefully post in a week or less. We get a lot of questions about the boat! Short story; the one we use is the Alpacka Explorer (www.alpackaraft.com/rafting/product/fx42/). Fits two for short trips or one with lots of gear. Packs to about the size of a 2 person tent and weighs about 8lbs. Simple enough to paddle one way and hike out if you wish. We love it! Wishing you all the very best of the holidays! 🚐

Another great video. Question for you Gord , you’ve had that same pack raft for quite some time. Is that the same one or have you replaced it? It’s been well used if it’s the same one.
@hikenrv3 жыл бұрын
Thank you....and yes, the same pack raft. We have used this for over 5 years. Still looks almost new. Well made! Will do likely short overview of the boat on next paddle.

Yes, it was close and coming in. Sadly, the tide table didn’t exactly match the paddling time!
