A hiker is dead after falling from near the Oneonta Trail in the Columbia River Gorge Sunday, according to the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.

I would suggest Park Rangers at the Lodge possibly consider giving mini-classes or visuals at a table booth on proper hiking gear recommendations, how useful a hiking stick can be while hiking to provide 3 points of contact at all times, stay on the trails provided for safety reasons, newer safety devices on the market that hikers should consider getting themselves, proper footwear while hiking, just overall some good Emergency Preparedness Management training given to young, inexperienced, and naive individuals!
