Hiker Tries Trail Running For The First Time

In this adventure I try trail running for the first time. Since I am running a lot more in training for my marathon I decided to get off the sidewalk and try trail running.
I love always love hiking so it was definitely interesting to compare the two.
I also decided to do my first trail run on the same day as my first ever 5-k race, so that added some extra challenge to the whole experience.

Uphill is always the work and downhill does the "damage". Take it slow and let your joints and muscles adapt to the new stress. Beautiful place to run!

Hell yeah! I love trail running and the vest is a must 😂 Check out the tree top trail race! It’s in September and about 9 miles I think at DuPont. I ran it last year and it was amazing!

I just got into trail running myself! Training for the AT I done five miles at Linville gorge this past Saturday! Was sore but it's a whole different experience I enjoyed and will do it more! Keep treking buddy
