Trail? These weren't "hikers" on a trail, they were tourists walking in a public city park. The pavement should have clued you in to that. The video was lifted from another channel. And this young squirrel is VERY accustomed to begging for food and water from all the people in that park. The begging and reaching gestures were learned from its mother, who learned it from her mother, etc. This kind of behavior gets passed down over dozens of generations in squirrels, pigeons, and various other city-dwelling animals. This is basically animal welfare, and it's not a good thing. They eventually lose the ability to fend for themselves and become reliant on the handouts.

Actually it isn't kind because when squirrels learn that humans have things to give like water they'll naturally stop looking for it themselves because they know they can depend on humans for it, it makes them weaker and kills them faster. There's a very good reason why the rule "DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS" exists.

Eventhough this precious squirrel 🐿️ is unable to communicate verbally in human language, however its remarkably expressive gestures of plea by her outstretched arms speak more than a thousand words in her body language indicating her desperation & devastating need for water hydration to quench her thirst, truly unveil & reflect volumes of a rodent's remarkable intelligence resembling human behaviour. I'm completely in awe, incredibly amazed, intriguingly fascinated & immensely touched & captivated by a heartwarming moment on how smart a squirrel can be to approach a human for help, which genuinely transcends beyond courage, bravery & fear. Gladness, Gratitude & Appreciation is how/all I felt when an act of love,❤️ compassion & kindness was offered to this vunerable squirrel's need. RESPECT to this person's noble act of virtue.
