When listening to this monologue over and over again somehow I felt as though Hachi doesn’t actually hate nice girls but rather that he hates himself or at least how He thinks. He substitutes the blame onto nice girls because he can’t come to address himself as the problem. He hates how he becomes expectant of an outcome that will never occur. He hates how he misunderstands their words and actions. To me that’s what the monologue is actually about. He’s trying to put his self-hatred out onto something else even though he knows subconsciously or maybe consciously that he hates himself the most despite how he acts and speaks.
