One of the best matches between music and scenery that I've seen. Absolutely perfect.

First of all: thank you very much for this beautiful video. Going to watch all the others you made as soon as possible. Furthermore I think the quality of the footage in terms of sharpness, color and contrast is amazing! Makes me wonder what camera equipment you used for this video?

Thank you so much! Some of the older videos including this one were actually shot with a phone (Huawei P30 Pro) but since 2021 I've been using Panasonic Lumix S5 with some occasional iPhone 12 shots as well. The drone is DJI Mavic 2 Pro. And of course I improve all clips a bit with Premiere Pro in post-production. Hope that helps and hopefully you enjoy the rest of the videos! 🙏🏻

Beautifully shot…. Only heard of the WHW! How does this compare?
@ElielHerleviPhotography11 ай бұрын
Thanks! The EHW is not quite as epic and the trail doesn't go as high into the mountains, but it's still really nice and varied with solid paths. Very Scottish! By the way, I did the WHW earlier this year and will be releasing a similar video from that trip in a couple of days!

haha Just realised the other half as already commented on this already! No need to answer my question. 😂😂😂😂
@ElielHerleviPhotography3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha that's awesome maybe the algorithm will now like me with more comments here 😂 Anyway, I think the biggest improvement one can make regarding shooting videos like these is not about equipment, it's just stopping to think about the shot for a moment and then setting up the camera. Easier said than done though when you're on the trail and just want to go! My other half is too impatient for my constant shooting 😅
@GETtwoIT3 жыл бұрын
😂. Yeah, thats probably something we are lacking......stopping to think and work out our shots. In regards to getting your brilliant video out to more people try the following: Noticed you haven't put any tags down i.e East Highland Way, Hiking, Scotland etc. Do that, think about what people will search for. Once you've done that, try the following: -Tags in Title & Description -Title words in the description

Fantastic video, loved to watch it, did the WHW last year and starting the EHW in one week. Should be quiet on the trail, planning to do it in reverse and the end with the Ben Nevis climb. Question: from who is the beautifull song starting at 10 min? realy love it but cant find it?
@ElielHerleviPhotography2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Hope it helped you in your planning. All songs in the video are by Doug Kaufman www.dpkaufman.com/ and the name of that particular song is "A Longing", a version without percussion.

Thank you for not saying a single word during the video. 12:36 was it necessary to cross this stream there? Would you do the whole route again? The video is a masterpiece 👍👍
@ElielHerleviPhotography3 жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I'm so glad there are people who appreciate videos without unnecessary talking 🙏🏻 The crossing at 12:36 - yes, you do need to cross the stream, but I've heard it shouldn't be that bad unless it has been raining a lot. We did the trail in early September so maybe it's a bit easier in the summer months. I know some people have been able to just jump on the stones to cross, no such luck for us... 😅 But the stream is very long so there are several places to try the crossing, we were just in a bit of a hurry that day so we didn't want to spend too much time looking for a perfect spot to cross. I personally maybe wouldn't do the whole route again, but only because there are so many good alternatives like the WHW. This is not nearly as popular as some other trails so if you want peace and tranquillity then the EHW is a very good option. Thanks for your comment!

I am planning on doing this trail in june. Is the trail beaten everywhere or do you need to freestyle on it and navigate without a obvious trail at some places? Thank you for your reply! :) Beautiful footage
@ElielHerleviPhotography Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I'd say it's at least 95% trails and quite often even roads. There are some places before and after the river crossing near Newtonmore at 12:35 where it's just a moorland, but that particular part is very easy to navigate. Other than that I don't really remember any obvious off-trail sections. I strongly recommend getting the East Highland Way map from Harvey though, we used that and had no issues. Hope this helps!

Glad you liked it! Hopefully it was helpful in some way. I did it in early September. Timing was okay, just a bit unlucky with rain. But since it's a quite peaceful and not that well-known trail I think you could do it in August and still have the trail to yourself most of the time!

20 minutes of the equivalent of watching paint dry yes nice views but a commentary would have been good to give folk an idea of what the walk was like for you
@ElielHerleviPhotography Жыл бұрын
Clearly you find watching paint dry interesting if you watched all 20 minutes 😄 But seriously, I'm aware my videos are not for everyone, but I've made a conscious decision to focus on the imagery. I feel there are enough "talking heads" on KZbin already, and I have no desire to be an online personality. I prefer when the walk is described with imagery, the edit, music, mood changes etc. so that's what I will focus on. Thanks for watching anyway!
