This was a 2 day backpacking trip where I hiked from Prince Creek to the town of Stehekin. I used the Lady of the Lake Ferry for both ends of the trip. While in Stehekin I rented a bike to get around. The trail runs along the lake and provides stunning views. Overall, one of my favorite trips.

Well, I can honestly say that between the footage and the soundtrack, this is probably one of the most beautiful and enjoyable videos I’ve seen on KZbin. BTW, what was that you prepared for dinner and breakfast.?Just curious because it looks like you just add cold water.

Wow, thank you! Yes both the dinner and breakfast were just soaked with cold water. The dinner was a couscous, bean flakes, olive oil, and salt (simple to make and ok tasting) while the breakfast is a combo of quick oats, almonds, pumpkin seeds, dehydrated strawberries, blueberries, milk, and salt (simple to make and great tasting). I bring a stove and fuel on some tips while others I just cold soak. This one I just chose to cold soak. Cheers!

This is your best video yet! You really paid attention to the details as you filmed and included some of the most enjoyable sounds of the water and birds. Amazing colours thorough out!

Hands down, best early season trail in WA! Boy, they sure fixed up Prince Creek Landing nicely :) Great footage and editing! See any rattlers, ticks, or bears? I didn't know about those bikes, that's great! Makes me want to return. Thanks for sharing.

I agree Tom. I'm thinking about the high route in the fall when the larches turn their color. I did come across two rattlesnakes on the trail on the first day. They of course weren't aggressive and just got off the trail when they sensed I was near. No ticks or bears. The bike was a good way to get around. I booked it ahead of time so it was all ready for me when I arrived. Cheers!

I'm gearing up to do this in April! I've been to Stehekin 3 times before, but we always rode the ferry in with our bikes and then just rolled around and explored for a few days. So this will be my first time hiking in. I've been backpacking since 2018 so this won't be my first trip. Got any tips? Hiking in has been a dream of mine for about 20 years now so this will be a huge accomplishment for me and I dream about it constantly. This video almost made me emotional with the sheer peace and beauty. Thank you for making it.

Hi @suziecordova2765. Hiking in will be such a great experience. When I made the video, it was the first time doing the trail and visiting Stehekin. I liked it so much I did it again last year. I do have some tips. First, bring a good hat and sun protection. The first day you will be exposed to the sun as there are very little trees. More trees and you get closer to Stehekin. I camped at Moore Point both trips. I like that campsite. Last year I brought a hammock. It was heaven laying in the hammock at the waterside listening to the waves and the birds. They have bear boxes to store your food so it's convenient. There would be less people during the week but I found the trail to not be that busy on a Friday/Sat. You may be aware of this since you've been to Stehekin, but if not there is a walk up hiker camp that is open if you can't get a reservation at a few of the other camps. End of April or May would be a great time. Not too hot and the wildflowers should be out. Last thing, the second time I picked up the ferry at Fields Point which made the ferry ride noticeable shorter. Enjoy, you'll have a great time!

@@cascadiahiking thanks! How is the elevation gain on that hike? I've heard both that it's a lot and also that it's gentle and steady. I'm not too concerned for either, just mostly curious. We're gonna take 3 days to get there and just mosey on over at our slow, even pace. First night at Cascade Creek, second night at Moore and last night at Flick...I think, though I'm sure it's subject to change. Then we'll have a few days to relax and explore. We'll be doing this the third week of April so I'm very much looking forward to the wildflowers and blue skies!

@@suziecordova2765 While the total elevation is ~4000 feet, it wasn't too bad since its a lot of rollers. None of the long climbs like you have on many hikes. I passed Flick Creek and thought that is probably the best camp on the trail. You are right on the water. That sounds like a great itinerary!

Hi Carl, thank you. Last year I was using HLG3 in most of my videos and doing some color grading. This year, I've gone with Cine2 (PP6 on A7C) to get good color straight from camera. Now, I do little to no color grading in post. So far, I've been pretty happy with Cine2. Cheers!
