Your plan is to hike from North Star Hotel at Staðarflöt to Hveravellir (I think that is the place you tried to pronounce :-) )? Oh - now the real fun begins! Good luck!

how did you decide your hiking route? I’m going to iceland with one of my friends to hike for 3 weeks, and i have no idea where to go
