Thanks... it amazes me that I've packed huge sections of this trail without knowing about it through your videos.😂

Quite a bit of psychological philosophizing, but the cool photography makes up for it- you're right. Don't know as I'd trust my water supply to cheap water bottles, though I think Jamal G did on his last crossing. Suppose they're lighter. Like the shots of mesa's and elk, etc. Way to go.

Glad you found an ok weather window over the Henrys. That alternate did look fun: cow pond, snake, elk and all. My first visit to Upper Muley Twist was met with snow, wind, a broken tent pole and a (short) walk back to the trail head at 3:30 am on a cold November morning. It's overcoming challenges like that though that have become some of my most satisfying adventures of all. And not just to talk about it later but the actual process of overcoming it in the moment. That said, I'll be happy to not traverse the "sketchy ledge" described by Jamal in Coyote Gulch; I think you were smart to work around that one. Thanks for sharing this Alex.

I've really been enjoying these videos. You do a great job of telling the story in your videos. Learned about the Hayduke and I am considering section hiking it at the least. When I saw Mt. Ellen was part of the route, I was wondering about picking the best time of year to include the desert and the Henry's haha When did you do this? I don't remember you mentioning it in any of the other videos, so far

Yeah that may have been an extremely obvious thing that I forgot to include in the videos ha. Most people do they Hayduke in the spring, some do it in the fall. I started at the end of March and finished at the end of May. The Henry's can be really unpredictable and I just got lucky that they were clear when I went over. Just a week later they got more snow and I could see fully snow covered peaks when I got a view back at the mountains.

@@WildernessMindset Good to know! Thanks for the response. I was looking at the Henrys a month ago and wondered if people get into them. Again, great videos. Just watched the one with the car stuck in the slot canyon haha
