Great -- glad you like the video AND the music. The music was a point of contention when I released the video (admittedly the mix was off and I probably shouldn't have used it due to license issues, but... I liked it at the time!) Thanks for watching and the comment! 🌞✌

Awesome video! Utah is such an amazing state. There's nothing else like the feeling you get when you realize you might be the first person to ever set foot in a certain spot, and seeing all those old carvings from people back in the 1800s and early 1900s. Just amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, that steep edge is crazy, especially with a big backpack. That lizard is amazing. That 1900s cabin is very well maintained.

Excellent trip and nice video work. Couple of suggestions, IMO, the music was a bit harsh, out of context with the visuals. If you really wanted that music, I would lower that track compared to your voice over.

Great video. Monticello is pronounced Montee/sello for those who have not yet learned the correct way. Happy camping. Welcome to Utah. A wonderful place to explore

@@cw7784 I agree. I was just thinking the thing I like most about your videos, Jamal, is no distracting music. (I'm a conductor). I watched your video of 31 minutes like a murder mystery and surprised myself. One of the things we go to nature for are the the sounds of silence. If you redo this video consider eschewing music completely.

Thanks, Jevutube. Yeah -- I wish KZbin had a way to replace the audio track w/o re-doing the whole video. I have several audio tracks I'd like to tweak.

Hi Jamal, Love watching your treks! I am an insta360 fan and wondering if you use the ME mode on most of your videos?
@Acrossutah Жыл бұрын
Heya Tom -- glad you've enjoyed the treks. Re: the camera -- No, I haven't used the Me Mode feature as I think it's only available on the X3 (I have the One X2 now and used the ONE-R and a Samsung360 before that.) Thus I do all my own re-framing manually. Even though it sounds like a time saver, I actually think I'd prefer the manual method though just for the added flexibility and control. From what I've seen the Me Mode requires one to stay fairly-well centered while shooting. I also sometimes enjoy using the "reverse" angle to intercut with a POV using the very same footage. Thanks for watching and the comment. ✌

I recently met a lady while hiking who carried a geiger counter because some petrified woods can have high levels of radiation.
@Acrossutah2 жыл бұрын
That's interesting. Several of my hikes have gone by old uranium deposits/mines -- I've often wondered what those spots would read on a Geiger meter. My understanding of residual radiation in rocks is that it's usual minimal -- but I'd love to know for sure. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience.

@@Acrossutah hey Jamal. I only found your channel very recently when i started researching for our first potential trip to the canyonlands which we hope to do next autumn (i guess you guys call it 'fall' right ?). We are most likely to do a combined trip of Utah canyons and a couple of longer hikes in the eastern Sierra...at the moment it looks as though it needs to be a 5-6 week trip from the UK. Iv'e just got my first guidebook and map and trying to make senese of what hikes, as a complete canyons beginner, to do. We know what conditions are like in the High Sierra but Utah looks like a completely different experience. Just to add that iv'e really enjoyed your video's....i go through at least one most nights and add yet another canyon to the list !
