Omg Andrew, just finishing this part, and that injury looks pretty bad..wow..lucky you just,scratches and nothing broke and that you jumped on side..and i see part 4 means you carried on...this is why i like your channels and films, i see trail, and also you gobackcamera hiker 😂 so i very appreciate this. Not just come to car park hike 4 miles set camp for one night and talk 50 min about your new tent. You are true backpacker, true adventurer . Thank you.. now going on part 4. Smashing conditionsxao,far...

You're too kind Lucy! I don't think I could talk about tents for 50 seconds, would be rubbish at that :D

Absolutely beautiful landscape...yes, a person could have no problem waking to that scene each and every day...even free-range cattle...the mountains seem like they go on forever! Thanks so much for sharing...

Agree - and when you get to the end you're right back at the beginning. It's tempting to keep going! Thanks for watching - Andrew

Cheers Jodz, that fall could have been much worse if it happened higher up, I was lucky in a way! Felt sorry for the poor lizard, I thought he got that fly. He looked so disappointed! Thanks for watching - Andrew

Thank you Joris. I used a GoPro Hero8 with a stick and extra battery and my phone was used as backup. Cheers -Andrew

Okay, since you mentioned the guy with the heavy tent, how much did your pack weigh, including food and water?
@andrewanderson683 жыл бұрын
Hi, I didn't weigh my pack with food/water added but it was 10kg excluding those. I carried up to 2 litres of water and a couple of backpacker meals at any one time. From memory, I referred to the guy with a 20 pound tent - that was a tent that cost £20, not a weight of 20lbs, that would be a back breaker! Cheers -Andrew
@Russell.Jolly.20233 жыл бұрын
@@andrewanderson68 So about 28 lbs total pack weight, which is pretty good.

Hello. I am doing the route this june. Can I ask which make and model of tent you used. Thanks
@andrewanderson682 жыл бұрын
Hi Oliver, I've got an old quechua quick hiker 2p from Decathlon, which has been discontinued. They now sell a slightly lighter version and changed the branding to Forclaz. It's a sturdy wee tent but quite heavy at 2.05kg, I'm getting something lighter for the next adventure. Good luck with the TMB in June 👍🏼

@@andrewanderson68 thanks. I bought a hubba hubba. What would you.do different if you did it again
@andrewanderson682 жыл бұрын
@@olivershaw1450 good choice, I've heard they're great tents. Really, I wouldn't change much for next time. I'd definitely use trekking poles from the beginning... those descents can be brutal. Oh, speaking of which, I would be more careful coming down off the Fenetre d'Arpette! I'm sure you'll be more sensible than me... Cheers!

@@andrewanderson68 thank you very much for the info. Is it easy to find and follow the routes I.e easily marked out. Like the west highland way?
@andrewanderson682 жыл бұрын
@@olivershaw1450 I'd say it's pretty well marked apart from the last section from Lac Blanc to Les Houches. There's signs with timings at most junctions including the variant routes :)

Sorry about your misfortune there. Your experience illustrates how the trend these days of not carrying a mountain appropriate first aid kit is misguided.

Thanks Will, agree. Should be the first thing in the pack. Doubt I would have finished the tour if I wasn't able to patch myself up!
