Hiking and Wild-Camping the Skye Trail | Day 5: Sligachan Valley to Camas Malag 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

In June 2022, I hiked and wild camped the entire length of the Isle of Skye Trail. I travelled from north to south and the route took me 6 days, covering approximately 137km, or 85 miles in total. For more information on this hike, please see my Skye Trail blog at jonnyboywander...
I woke very early on day 5 somewhere along Sligachan Valley. It had been a difficult evening with the midges and they continued to be relentless so I decided to make a hasty exit. Carrying along the valley I found myself a beautiful place to have a wash, and feeling far more refreshed continued on to Camasunary Bay. This place was honestly a complete revelation and reminded me of some other far flung desert island. Starting to feel pretty worn out I decided to make the shortcut over the hill on to Torrin, with the idea of leaving myself only one more day of hiking. The afternoon was a bit of a blur, as my knees really started to struggle and I couldn't for the life of me find a good place to camp, hence why there is not much video. Finally after a brutal 29km I found myself at Camas Malag which provided a beautiful but really stony spot, and so a thoroughly difficult place to pitch a tent. Overall this was a brutally long, but unexpectedly beautiful day.
