I am also planning the same trip as you did. I want to know how did you travel from Canggu/Ubud to Malang? What is the best option and from where to book? Also tell how to go from Malang to Yogyakarta, I mean from where did you book the train? Can I book it on the spot or do I need to book beforehand?

We initially planned to travel overland and stop off at Ijen volcano however we kinda ran out of time in Bali. In the end we just got a direct flight from Denpasar to Surabaya (for about £50) and a bus down. The train from Malang to Yogya was easy - we bought tickets at the station a day before

Hey no problem. You could but there's no accommodation around the Storr, so you'd have to get a bus back to Portree. Other than that there is a hostel in Flodigarry and a hotel in Sligachan. You might be able to find some BnB's in Elgol and/or Torrin but you'd probably have to book something well in advance
