. . GREAT content incredible scenery fantastic pup! informative always great to see linked couples out in back country and not that common in YT land where many channels trip and fall into the solo, self-involved, non-stop chatter and dj influenced 15 minutes nice vibe, with just enough narrative , but not so much that overshadows the epic views and silent beauty Thanks for the time and effort to share Sure miss my dog~ . .

So peaceful. You guys capture the essence of back-country trekking so perfectly in all of your videos. I'm just a beginner at taking it outdoors. You guys make every novice strive to achieve the skills and experience to be able to hike challenging trails like that. I work climbing skyscrapers around NYC and am blessed to hike around the parks in the surrounding counties. The grass is pretty green on this side, but it grows much greener outside the chaos of the city!

I've been using the bear vault for years - it IS heavy but as the food goes down I can put other things (e.g. stove, fuel) in the vault so it's always full. And it is handy as a camp seat (if your balance is good).

hey not sure if you know that coconut oil is great for joint pain and using it daily over time solves this issue = more hiking and enjoyable hiking! I put it in tea because coffee is very acidic and bad for joints and bones but i just hate seeing people with joint pain that drink coffee. Love the channel stay blessed!

+GuideYouOutdoors I will certainly do that! Make sure to hit the glacial lake near the summit! If you follow an unmarked footpath once you reach it, you can see every major peak in Oregon.. as long as it's a clear day of course. Where are you currently passing through?

Yes one bear canister isn't enough for everything. Carrying two bear canisters is heavy but doable for longer trips.

+NurseMurse Sure I film with a JVC PX-100 that has 2 microphones on it. It saves me having to bring an external microphone. If you don't want to buy a new camera, check out the zoom h1 mic and buy the clip on mic for it.

At 8:41 you comment that “other hikers are destroying the trail by doing it in two days”. Curious of your rationale to that.
@GuideYouOutdoors
@GuideYouOutdoors 7 жыл бұрын
Context...some are destroying the trail while others are getting destroyed by it....aka some are doing it fast some are not in shape for it and turning around.
@KLB5420
@KLB5420 7 жыл бұрын
GuideYouOutdoors - I understand the “being destroyed by it” but all users “destroy” the trail by use of it then. Maybe those who spend longer on the trail destroy it more as they impact that ecosystem longer than those who do not spend as much time on the trail? Just found it interesting that you made it sound like faster hikers destroy the trail while folks who go slower don’t. Probably not what you meant though. I hoping to do this hike next June. Beautiful area, nice video.

I guess I'm not being clear, when I said "destroying the trail" I meant they were doing it fast in 2 days. Destroying = slang for doing it well

Is the govt really this intrusive in hiking and camping now? Good grief, I grew up in Douglas, Wyoming 30 years ago and we would drive up into the Esterbrook, Labonte canyon area or where ever we wanted really. Park the truck, lock it, hide the keys and hike and camp for days in meadows and mountain streams. If they are this regulatory now, I dont think I would enjoy the experience at all. Love the scenery though, nice video.

+M Dutchy For sure, lots of red tape in high traffic places. They wouldn't even let us in saying there was no parking but we misunderstood the guy and drove on in anyways....and found plenty of parking. Yet over in the Gore Range we found the type of open wilderness experience you are talking about.
