Yes, I believe it was in the low 60’s, and dropped to into the 50’s at night. It was nice escaping the heatwave we are having here in California. I plan to get out again once the season opens. I prefer the dungeness over the rock crabs. Thank you so much for tuning in 😊

A hoop net off the rocks work great. I use chicken leg quarters for bait. Spud Point is a great place to stop for crab sandwiches and clam chowder. Sometimes the line can be long but it moves pretty quick.

Keep a tight line to your trap,you should be able to see when they're there.. they move fast, they can be on your trap as soon as it gets on bottom.. don't wait 15 minutes.. check regulations on measurement of fish, you squiz the tail together makes it longer. It’s a beautiful spot. Nothing beats the ocean. They are neat little contraptions, and they work great for catch crabs. I’m glad she doesn’t because a pinch from one of them would hurt. @@girlfinfishing Yeah my grand parent always took me crabbing for blues and used chicken on a string and we got buckets full !! Just find a place to drop a few feet down and keep hand on line !! Pull up slow once they clamped down on it and net it !!!! Calm water is best !!!

Crabbing I thought crabbing season in California is nov 1st till June 😂

Rock crab is open all year, but dungeness isn’t open till the first week of November.

It sure is. Lots of crabs off the jetty. You can catch rock crabs right now, but dungeness doesn’t open till November. Almost that time! 🦀

My frenchies would love fishing but there are sooo many gators!! They recently opened the beach to dogs where I live..Maybe a fishing trip with the pups is in order!!!

Dungeness Crab reopens first Saturday of November, in this case it’s November 2nd. This spot has been blown up so bad there were like over 70 cars on the last seasons opener! 🤦‍♂️

Yeah elbow to elbow ain’t fun! If the weather is nice and the waves/swells aren’t bad I think I’ll try a beach on opener, it’s much more roomier and you often catch more Dungeness at a beach.
