8-5 I used to hunt that area. I miss going in there. 1 of the biggest moose I ever saw was up there. I spotted him just as he was walking into the tree line and out of my life forever.

So awsome man! Glad you got your deer. What sort of elevation are you running into wt? I don't believe i have eaten whitetail, do you prefer it to mule, or is there much of a difference?

Hey thanks!! Been seeing a fair amount, both WT and MD. The warm fall out here in Southern BC really had an impact on deer movements this season. I would say numbers are high for this time of year but it could be do to the 3 ft of snow we recieved a couple weeks back.

Awesome! I’m new to hunting, learning with my 13 yr old son - also new to living in area 8 - haven’t seen any whitetails yet this year, mostly doing a lot of hiking w a gun on our backs, mostly in 8-9, 8-12 up Carmi - Do you normally look higher up the mountain tops or down in the valleys? Also, does it matter how close to water sources/lakes you are? Any tips appreciated!

Hey right on Jeremy and good on you for getting the young lad involved as tough as it can be this day and age. Great area for hunting/outdoors. Goudie rd is a good one also but the entire area, mcculloch is good. The whole big white are is really good. "Mountain tops" is a tough one cause it really depends on the elevation. Generally speaking the wt does will be lower down in the valleys, water sources can be good things to pay attention to. Google earth is amazing for finding possible key areas. Boots on the dirt is the best way to collect the true data.
