Hiking in Swabia - Pure nature in the protected forest and moor of the Pfrunger-Burgweiler(4k, 2022)

The hike starts at the car park at the Riedwirtschaft near Pfrungen and goes over the old railway embankment of the peat railway to the bird observation platform at Hundsche Weiher. Then continue along the Ostrach to the almost 39 m high Bannwaldturm to enjoy the view from above of the wide nature reserve. From there continue through the Bannwald, where the renaturation can be seen impressively, to the platform at the Fünfeckweiher with its abundance of fish. Then it continues on footbridges through the water landscape to the Ried near Ulzhausen and through pastureland to the reed area in front of the Vogelsee/Moorsee with its observation platform. From there the path leads back to the old railway embankment and on to the starting point of the hike. Distance approx. 10 km, duration approx. 3 hours and +/-240 meters in altitude.
