Hiking in Warrumbungle National Park - Split Rock and Tara Cave Hikes | VAN LIFE AUSTRALIA | EP 5

We travelled out to the amazing Warrumbungle National Park near Coonabarabran in New South Wales to go on some legendary hikes and try to shoot some astrophotography. The Warrumbungles are Australia's first Dark Sky Reserve, so on a clear night the stargazing is epic. Besides that we couldn't wait to go hiking in the Warrumbungles, and started our trip off with two great walks.
The Split Rock hike and walk to Tara Cave are moderate trails with incredible views, Aboriginal historic sites and lush flora and fauna. A perfect introduction to any trip hiking in Warrumbungles National Park
We stayed at Camp Wambelong the first two nights, and were surprised to find that we were one of only a few people camping out there! Goes to show that travelling New South Wales in winter is the best time to explore these world-class national parks without the crowds.
