The ascent of Mount Brandon via the medieval pilgrim’s route called The Saint’s Route. At 952m (3,123 ft), it is the highest Irish mountain outside the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks range. For Christians, the way up is marked by 14 crosses that represent the 14 key moments in the trial, crucifixion, and burial of Jesus Christ

I remember seeing Mt Brandon from Dingle. St Brandon is the guy in the boat, right? 😂 Dingle was one of my favorite places to visit in Ireland. Gorgeous country! I’m currently reading a memoir by Raynor Winn about hiking the South West Coast Path (Different country, I know). Have you done any of that? Thanks for keeping the videos coming!

We’re near the end of a 16 day, own car, self created, tour of Ireland I have walked the SWCP. It was my warm up for the AT. 2022. 28 days (I pushed). Most consistently stunning trek I’ve done so far. Used to test my self and gear. Videos for all days!

That’s a fast walk! 😳 We flew into Limerick, rented a car and traveled mostly on west coast, from Galway and the inhabited Innish island (years ago, I can’t remember the name - Dun Aengus is there. Innishere? Innisfree?) down to Dingle Peninsula. Great time!

We did the same for that part of Ireland, plus some mountains… Most SWCP itineraries take 48-54 days mainly because walkers slack pack between accommodations. I wild camped, so could walk 10hr days…
